I believe it even started here on Reddit but it got picked up by the late night "news comedians". Basically someone said JD looks like the type of guy who'd fuck his own couch and it just became sacrosanct fact after it spread enough.

Ah yeah you're right, I thought it was in an old book but you're right it's a guy referencing a theoretical old book.

The full joke isn't that he fucks couches, it's that he makes a homemade Fleshlight out of a glove and some sponges, puts THAT in between the couch cushions, and fucks that. Which I feel like is more sad and pathetic? If he were into couches I'd just say hey don't kinkshame.
