Isreal was perfectly safe until it wasn’t. Ukraine was perfectly safe until it wasn’t. Instead of going for one-liners why don’t you explain what you mean
The Nazis didn't come from outside of Germany. They came from within and took their time to reshape Germany against the minorities they hated. It wasn't an overnight process
It wasn't really a taking their time type of thing. True they spent years trying to gain power and influence, but they only ever managed to get control of about a third of the government. It wasn't until Germany's president Hindenburg appointed Hitler as Chancellor, because he was advised that the Nazis would stop the spread of Communism, and Hitler was given authority and control over Germany's police where everything got put onto a fast track to fascism because he was able to lock up any political opponents. The Nazis might not have been able to Garner any more than one third of the seats of the German Parliament, but when you have the other two thirds of the government locked in jail for non-existent crimes you can get anything passed.
Edit: fun fact, one of the Nazis pieces of propaganda was against trans people and used it to stir moral outrage to garner votes. Sound familiar?
Edit: i realize I'm responding to the wrong person lol, your comment was worded such that the person with the opposite opinion could have written the same...
I'm certain that the people of Germany said the exact same thing just before WW2.
Have you seen the kinds of people that has been sent to prison?
Have you heard how your president has threatened to invade my country?
They've tried to stage the presence of supporters in Greenland, the proof being broadcast in Denmark, while to my knowledge, not being reported in the US?
Have you seen the economic crisis your government is directly creating?
Have you seen the conflict in Ukraine that your president has shown ignorance for? Have you seen how he's tried to spread misinformation about said conflict? He called their President a fucking dictator?
Nazi Germany didn't happen overnight, and there's a ton of overlap with what has been happening in the US this year and what happened in the build up to Nazi Germany.
I agree he is a stupid leader and not a good politician. But he HASNT invaded anyone, he hasn’t illegally imprisoned people. As for Ukraine, he hasn’t shown ignorance just because he isn’t blindly handing billions on dollars over..
The effectiveness of Trumps ICE policies aren’t the issues here. I dispute “hundreds”.. but regardless of how poorly the government is executing at rounding up illegal immigrants, they ARE affording every suspected illegal immigrant due process under the law
They are explicitly not, which is why they have deported dozens of citizens and legal residents, and have multiple court orders to stop, and have said, themselves, publicly, that they (paraphrasing)"can't afford to let every illegal have a day in court"
I didn't say he invaded anyone, but he's serious about getting Greenland and my government has repeatedly said that we are not going to hand over Greenland, so according to his statements that can only mean an eventual war.
As for Ukraine wtf are you on about? The guy has literally tried to side with Russia and said that Ukraine was the aggressor? Like he was literally spreading russian propaganda
Ignorance is probably the wrong word, the guy is just literally spreading misinformation.
Oh, I am in no way defending his actions. I didn’t vote for him, I wanted Kamala. He’s the worst thing that has happened to the US from a geopolitical standpoint since the Iraqi war. His tariff war and his trade policies in the pacific are large contributor to why China has made such a monumental rise in the last decade. He just makes shit up (like Ukraine being the aggressor) and tries to bully world leaders. He is insane and a stain on our country’s history.
I’m just saying that he’s not going to war with Greenland. Nobody stateside wants to invade Greenland or Canada, so he’d be impeached very quickly if he attempted anything like that. Congress would never approve it and unless Greenland attacks first Trump is powerless to go to war without congress.
As for Ukraine. Yeah, idk why he does the things he does and says the things he says, but he’s still sending aid over there and, as unpopular as it was, the minerals deal he signed with zelensky is actually a GIANT bargaining chip at the peace talks. Now the invasion of the Donbas region directly threatens US economic interests, meaning Ukraine is far more likely to keep much more of it. The US has incentive to continue sending aid, and whatever war of attrition Putin was playing is all but thrown out the window.
