Big true. My wife had a business trip to Paris with her team. One of them was French-Canadian. He tried speaking to a waiter in French, the dude obviously recognized the Quebec accent and responded to everything in English.
Parisians in general don’t hate Quebec or Quebecers, but they sometimes make fun of them even if it’s not meant in a bad way but making fun of unkown people can be considered rude. Some just prefer to speak English with their own bad accent for whatever reason.
It only takes one out of five people acting badly for others to assume everyone is like that. I’m pretty sure that 80% or more of Parisians are polite and great, but you might encounter more rude people in restaurants or places that deal with the public than other place.
And french like Quebecers without a doubt, we are cousins after all :D
