When there’s demand to watch there’s demand to make.
Just as anything else in the world.

Meme depicts voluntary and consensual transaction
"Late stage capitalism"
Am I supposed to be less in favor of capitalism?

u/EasilyRekt 29d ago
The only acceptable porn is when the government forces women to do it for free.
(It’s not real communism, but it’s still better than the 🤢 free market 🤮)

u/Haru1st 29d ago
What we have right now arguably isn’t capitalistic, since suppliers are trying to drive demand instead of following the market. If anything the transfer of wealth that we’re witnessing into the hands of the few has decimated the purchasing power of the clientele.
If Henry Ford could see that society instead of just the wealthy having money is good for business, then modern “capitalists” have had a serious fall from grace in the past half a century.

Symbiotic and mutually parasitic. I'm not anti porn, far from it but this shit is getting ridiculous. Every single aspect of the internet is riddled with some form of pornography thanks to things like onlyfans. You are watching a YouTube video about the history of batman or the lore of Skyrim or whatever else and the top comment is some botted onlyfans account with the whore's ass or tits as the profile picture. Can't open any form of social Media in public anymore because I don't even have full guarantee that YouTube of all platforms is safe let alone Instagram that will just randomly decide I will be watching exclusively gooner reels for the next two days.

Its a basic human component from day 1 of our existence. Its the oldest profession.
Having said that, I agree with you. Its wild.

u/JebediahKerman4999 29d ago
Nah, I think the oldest profession is hunter. Otherwise you wouldn't have anything to barter for services

tbh, internet sex bots has always been an issue. at least in my experience. i haven't really noticed much of a difference since OF.

u/weirdbeanbag 29d ago
this is so true, it's getting old and it's making people dumber to a very noticeable degree.

u/WantonKerfuffle 29d ago
Porn isn't the problem, it's capitalism. If people fuck in front of a camera just because they are into that, there's no need for advertising aggressively. They do it for themselves, not because they have bills to pay. Call it cummunism.

I think OF is a good thing. But advertising it on Platforms like TikTok or Instagram should be illegal. Its 18+ Content and should only be promoted on 18+ Sites.

u/Captaincrunchies Jul 31 '25
On the one hand I agree with you about it only being promoted on adult sites on the other hand I think tiktok and insta should already be 18+ only

There’s no way in hell Tik Tok and Insta would ever be as popular as they are if they were 18+.

Careful now,
This is the kinda talk that will get us all a shitty new law where we have to scan our faces or upload a drives licence just to jerk off.
Ask the UK how that's going.

OF a good thing? The average of model earns like 150/month. Selling your body for 150 a month seems like a very low price to sell yourself like a commodity.

u/Baerog 29d ago
To be fair, many men will send nudes to people for free. There will be women who fall into the same camp (Hell, there are subreddits for it), but they get coffee money for doing the same thing.
Overall I do agree that people who don't want to do OF feeling they need to to get by is a bad sign, but there will be a sizable number of people who do it for fun and to make some money on the side and aren't relying on it.

u/NotQuiteThere07 29d ago
Far better than the mainstream porn industry that frequently involves trafficked, underage, or non-consenting participants

And yet people do it. In my mind that says something about the economy and "regular" work nowadays.

u/cortez0498 29d ago
The most advertising I've seen from creators is a linktree in their bio, direct mention of OF doesn't seem to be allowed.

u/CrazeMase mamma mia my balls are gone 29d ago
I'm on the other side of that coin. Though I wholly agree with the TikTok and Insta problem. But OF as a whole is just plain awful. I have tried several dating apps and several accounts several times to try and meet people because with my current job, I don't meet anyone. And not ONCE did I meet a single woman who didn't try and make me sup to an OF. It's fucked up that the main idea of OF isn't the porn, but the fact that you get to talk to the woman. Do people not realize how fucking sad that sounds? Paying a monthly subscription to talk to a woman. It's just made the dating pool a nightmare, I went to an in-person speed dating event, and I kid you not, the first three women I talked to said stuff along thd lines of: "I don't like texting or calling on my phone, I'd much rather chat on my OnlyFans." Like what is even the point of!? Maybe I just live in an area where every woman of legal age wants to make money that way, and I don't judge people who do make money in those means, by all means, get that bag. But for literally everyone in a fifty mile radius of me being a seller or a Telegram prostitute, it's just depressing that it's gotten to the point that a large portion of men are even willing to pay for it. I just wish it was different circumstances that made this the status quo.

So are you just some hyper puritan who doesn’t watch porn at all?
Or can you only get off when it’s done by an official porn studio that has a high probability of being a front for a sex trafficking ring?
Either way you don’t seem like a person worth listening to. Try moving to Saudi Arabia.

u/Baerog 29d ago
it’s done by an official porn studio that has a high probability of being a front for a sex trafficking ring?
The overwhelming majority of people watch porn from big name actresses who clearly are not trafficked. Just sort by view count.
This narrative that this is a common thing is itself pushed by puritan organizations.

Agreed. Whoring yourself out should never be a viable career path, male or female.

If you want to be one of those nofap freaks go for it.
You don't get to decide what other people do with their lives.
Hope that helps 🖕🏻

Nothing about it is a good thing for society. Makes young girls sell their body and throw their dignity and ability to pair bond away early and never get it back, then men throw their ambitions away and become porn addicted simps.

u/ScottyEscapist 29d ago
Do you think the only way something can be negative is if it involves a breach of consent?

Don't play dumb. You could come up with a million examples if you thought for just a second. An obvious example: smoking. Entirely consensual yet very harmful.
1
u/syopest 29d ago
But unlike smoking, making porn with consent is not harmful.

u/Substantial-Leg-9000 🍄 29d ago
Not what I was talking about. I said nothing about porn.
But I can say something now. I consider it mostly harmful for everyone involved, even when it's consensual. On the other hand, whether it should be legal shouldn't even be a subject of debate (it obviously should be legal).

It doesn't, that's why I strongly believe it should be 100% legal, even if I consider it harmful.
Read with comprehension goddamnit.

I thought we were entirely limited to sexuality for these purposes
2
u/Substantial-Leg-9000 🍄 29d ago
Ok, ignore my harshness in this case. There's still plenty of examples, but I guess none that would be considered harmful unanimously.

I didn't consent to the army of them marketing themselves on every social media platform. Insta, reddit, dating apps, even youtube. There's no avoiding them.
There's even those that blatantly use children in their content, it really feels like grooming their audience into subscribing.
And thirdly, the problem is that it's glamorised. Prostitution used to be something as a last resort, it wasn't a carreer goal. Are we really teaching women that they are a commodity? Doesn't sound like the kind of values you'd want to teach your child.
1
u/Ar005 29d ago
Your first point seems to be a problem of the platforms and not the creators themselves. Take it up with them.
The second one came out of nowhere. CP is a problem but not the topic of discussion over here.
And thirdly, there is a big difference between prostitution and OF modelling. Both may have a similar customer base, but one of them is highly exploitative and dangerous compared to the other.
Your "commodity" comment doesn't even make sense. No one is selling these women to anyone in a bazaar. They're selling pics of their bodies cuz there exists a market for them. Maybe the "values" we should teach our children should be to not be a part of that market.

u/ParamediK 29d ago
Exactly this. Some disgusting comments here defending this behaviour. Just because you can do something like this, doesn't mean you should, or that it is good for you.
If a pretty woman you were interested in started an OF, first off, yes, you'd be excited to see the content. But, long term, there would be little to no respect for them anymore. Having them as a partner is out of the question now because you would not want to tell your children that their mother was an OF model. On top of that, indulging in those hedonistic activities will likely make her unfaithful to you in the future.
All these "feminist" preachers call for rights, benefits, and for men not to objectify them, when they blatantly objectify themselves for the right price. No integrity.
Anyway. I'll see you all in the downvotes.

u/firebird_ghost I have crippling depression 28d ago
I think you’re making some big assumptions. While I likely wouldn’t want my partner doing OF as a career, it wouldn’t make them “unredeemable” in my eyes like you’re implying (I’m also skeptical about the faithfulness part but I can’t disprove that.)
As far as women “objectifying” themselves, yeah there’s always gonna be some women that use their sex appeal to their advantage. That doesn’t mean all women (or even those same women) wanna be seen as sex objects all the time and be treated like trash by the men who beg to see them. If you can’t understand this concept in 2025, idk what to tell you

There's a weird puritanical wave going over society lately. It's annoying, but give it a few years, and it'll pass. I think the kids are in their unsure anxious phase and a lot are just filling the hole with judgemental religious takes and alpha bro chud speak
27
5
u/messisleftbuttcheek 29d ago
The purpose is government control. Religion or "protecting children" is just the means to give the government more power.
3
u/mouse_8b 29d ago
Yeah, we got a little too woke, just handing out freedoms to everyone. The institutions of power are trying to tamp it back down again.
3
u/LeaveMeAloneAHole 29d ago
Right wingers will use every dirty trick in the book to make sure the pendulum never swings again in the direction they don't like.
Just look at what the US government is doing right now. This problem isn't with just porn either. Freedom of speech is dying.

Dude, you got no idea. The dating pool is like swimming in a river of liquidy shit. Every single account on a dating app or every conversation will always loop around to "If you wanna keep talking to me, you need to pay a subscription." Do people not see just how fucking sad the idea of paying a subscription to talk to women is? It just feels gross and sad. And I kid you not, when I was in high school, I talked to several senior girls, I struck up conversation cause I'm not an incel weirdo, and most girls who were 18 or 19, almost all of them said that they either already had, or planned on getting an OnlyFans. Not even in their twenties. I hate it so much, I think OnlyFans is a virus. Not prostitution or pornography, those have existed forever, OnlyFans and Fansly specifically for how they've molded people's minds to think that it's normal in any capacity to pay a subscription to talk to people.
