That and early alcoholism and smoking perk. Try it early so by the time its legal you are sick of it and quit.
But it varies dependant on your INT stat.

Funfact: In the Philippines, there's a traditional game called Ubusan ng Lahi. Which, for the most part, is just a variant of tag. What's funny is that the name can translate to "Racial Extermination." Ok, maybe just "Clan/family Extermination." The word Lahi is a broad term for blood related kin. It can be used for anything as small as a family or more accepted Western definition of race. Ubusan translates to "exhausting," "running dry," "act of removing until none remains," "finishing," etc. In context of the game, this is because the mechanics goes that two factions will struggle over members until none remains. Fairly innocent, but quite a name no?

You’re wrong, in Latinoamérica we’re ALL racist against each other but specially against Argentinians, those mf are the French of Latin America, but yeah we all sorta hate each other and call each others names but we actually really all share the Latin American sentiment so it’s one of those things like I can talk shit about my family but YOU can’t

I mean. There’s a LOT of wars in historical Europe too. Hell I think Sweden has a record for most wars. Or maybe just most wars between two countries.
57
u/tigersareyellow 10d ago
Europe had the ability to marry royalty between countries, eventually making every ruler related to each other. You'd probably have had an easier time convincing a Japanese warlord to eat literal dog shit than to marry a Chinese lady for peace and alliance.

East Asian beef is weird. It has bucketloads of connections and disputes between China, Korea, Japan.
The best summary is they’re constantly giving middle finger to each other, but when one country decides to upset the other two, it suddenly becomes “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”
8
u/Bloomberg12 10d ago
I don't think China and Japan would be teaming up against SK in almost any situation.
It's more like Korea hates China for various things but largely the Korean war and continued existence of NK while they both hate Japan for imperial Japan's actions in WW2.

We indians even got beef with each other. Nah but one thing I noticed is that Pakistani beef with each other in a way that they're almost trolling. "Lahoris are dumb. But us Karachiites love our drugs" Meanwhile in india, the beef is mainly to establish that one is superior to another in every way "oh this guy's a dalit. We won't even look in his general direction" "that person is from Bihar. Pin all the crimes on him"

My only India news I get is either from family or insta since I don't live there. One of my cousins moved back there for uni and he says it's chill, at least in the city he lives in. Some of my fam lives in another city in the same state (UP) and say it's kinda bad because of the whole religion war bs. Some of my family members have been targeted as well a few years ago.
Leaving aside the caste discrimination and religion wars, I noticed when I went to India the last time, there was a lot of envy flying around even in a community about each other. And a lot of one-upmanship was there.

I've been saying this for years. 99% of racists are terrible people becauze they think they're superior to another race simply for the fact that they have a different skin color and nothing more. That's neanderthalic and makes them the dumb one because all they can spout is a few stereotypes and some slurs.
But that last 1% are masters of their craft. They didn't just conclude they're better because they feel it, they did the research. When they want to insult another race they can cite specific common happenings and issues the community faces. They know the stats and have ascended beyond the use of slurs by developing their own insults based in modern day issues of the race they're discriminating against. They're still awful people for being racist, but they're 200x funnier and can actually be original about it
400
u/Eranaut 11d ago
Redditors like to believe that some people were born racist. I find that insulting.
My racism was crafted. Forged. Engineered to perfection. I can smell someone from 3 blocks away and know exactly which slur to call them in their native tongue.
You think I was just given this power? I earned it.

Are we seriously pretending that Europeans aren't precise in their racism?
36
u/The_Knife_Pie 10d ago
As a European, I concede that I don’t study other Europeans before being racist against them. Because I don’t need to, the superiority of Sweden over D*nmark, Germany or the French is self evident and needs no supporting arguments.
24
1
u/TheCherryPi 10d ago
See but this tactic is weaker, by revealing information about yourself you give opponents strong low blows, which could be defended by citing War crimes your side has committed but that's not Sweden's strong side, so you would have to go at the angle of counter insulting to defend the low blow, this is difficult if you can't pin point the origin of your opponent, In that case you may be forced to use one of your Ultimates early therefore not having it for the rest of the match (Citing your Viking heritage, and building up from there).
But to win you have to truly believe what you are saying is The Truth, or else you will lose.

Korea is easily the most racist country I've visited in my life. You will be denied entry purely based on race in many clubs and even stores. India? Pakistan? Hell, anywhere not western. Insanely racist.
17
u/BoiFrosty 11d ago
As if African or asiatic intergroup conflict isn't just as tribal as others? China, Korea, and Japan all call themselves the master race/ culture while viewing their neighbors as backwards and inferior. Don't even get me started on conflicts among Indian kingdoms, castes, language groups or ethnicities.
India isn't really a country, that's a modern concept they've all agreed to. It's something like 1100 different kingdoms and territories that all got conquered by the British.

Blame the ruling class for that, they brought them in, loves the cheap labour, the kinds of conditions migrant workers are willing to put up with, can't company hop as easily due to visa etc. If your country simply decided the minimum wage and policy better, companies won't hire migrants if they cost too much, won't be worth it.

At the risk of sounding like Im defending this, it works differently because in the US attempting to scientifically identify or talk about a "racial" difference is effectively announcing you have no credibility.
Folks do try to talk about some of that, amid their nonsense they might even make legitimate observations. But like the Bill Burr joke about a sports caster theorizing about slavery/breeding programs creating bigger stronger faster men, it doesnt matter whether theres a point or not because thats not a valid conversation here, and for decent historical reasons.

Unfortunately, racism cannot be avoided. It's albeit debated but it can be drawn back to how our ancestors' social groups didn't exceed over 50 and the inmate fear of strangers/xenopbia. So it's technically in our very DNA and brain wiring to look at someone different than ourselves and find something wrong with them.
Does it make sense? Nope, but your Brian is essentially a slab of fat and salts with electrical currents weaker than a battery running through it.
Mokey brian does what monkey brain wants and it's on us to manually correct that behaviour.
1
u/P3rilous Red 11d ago
or you could be conflating the human fear of change, a little pseudo evolutionary psychology, and electrical engineering to forget that, "racism is learned" while suggesting "travel cures racism" is somehow burdensome instead of liberating?
not debating, just curious if this could have similar explanatory powers...
edit: ya'll should never have been let off the continent
1
u/JadeS2356 Boston Meme Party 10d ago
I mean, fair enough. After all we had a tendency of enslaving people from adjacent countries before we got to transport via sea and got slaves from more "exotic places" compared to the ones of origin.
So yeah, me calling racism itself might have been an exaggeration but the xenophobia is still at the root of the problem.
Also, I don't really get what you meant with the electrical engineering comment because that sounds dangerously close to brainwash people to be better, but I wouldn't trust anyone with that kind of tech to not use it do polarise the people even harder.
