Do you have any credible study of gender paygap where the reason of pay gap is the gender of the person? I have 0 belief anyone would hire man for jobs where woman would work for 85% of the pay
It’s the whole having a kid thing lol. Our economic system is built on the idea that both a man and a women are the same thing when it comes to work. But completely ignores the fact that to have a society you need mothers.
There is some truth to this. There is a lot of nuance in the discussion that is not mentioned in the discussion, women having children is one small part.
The 85% is taken across all positions and not standardized in any true way.
Another factor often overlooked is that men make up 90+% of workplace fatalities. Taking more dangerous jobs should have a premium.
I do also remember that there was a pretty big stat that showed that on average men were more likely to be aggressive and ask for more and larger raises. And when was the last time a company went "hey have a big raise" unsolicited.
Not to mention that male dominated jobs did on average pay higher than female dominated ones. Like oil drilling and mining pays more than child care and social workers (just using them as examples because they have extreme gender dominances).
So when all things are considered even the gap actually comes much closer to being even.
