I get it but that is like saying What causes murder and the answer being murderers. It is what in society causes them to become that.

You are missing the joke. The joke is the fact that something so obvious has to be even pointed out.

If in murder cases it was common for people to put the blame on the victim for not being alert enough, not wearing body armor, or pissing someone off, then we'd have to start conversations about murder by stating that murder is caused by murderers before we look at why the murderer became one.

This literally isn’t a joke dude. Humor is subjective, but this is just not a joke—it’d be more funny if the obvious cause was NOT selected, which would imply that even when given the answer, people avoid it.

I think a better comparison is the classic "Why did the chicken cross the road?" joke, with the joke being that it's just a simple, obvious answer.

Didn't see it as a joke myself personally, just noting that jokes can have obvious answers.
