India: it's just good business

165

u/nuthins_goodman 1d ago

Not even that, really. The Indian population doesn't benefit from it. Just the ambanis and the oil corps

Indian people are being scammed by buying petrol at massively inflated prices. They don't even get petrol. They get 20% ethanol which ruins engines lol

Better than scam call centers.

If they manage to catfish a certain "Transport Minister" and ruin his reputation, then why not?

Bombing Russian oil refineries work. Troll farms are working overtime.

27

u/WeeZoo87 1d ago

India buys cheap discounted oil from russia then refine it and sell it to europe.

India is sanctioned for that but the guy who do this business got exclusion from trump because he funded his campaign.

u/Useless-Use-Less 1d ago

Ukraine have been doing that since the beginning of the war and headline saying Russia will have fuel crisis and economic collapse..

164

u/LeMe-Two 1d ago

Last week Russian state oficially entered a recession as per their own finance ministry

40

u/Arathgo 1d ago

Don't forget that's despite Russia's state fudged favorable statistical numbers, and unsustainable debt spending on a war industry.

It's almost like they haven't been doing it consistently the whole time and stopped at the request of the Americans.

Then they realized the Americans aren't helping much and went back to bombing refineries. The impact has been swift and obvious.

u/wtfredditacct 1d ago edited 1d ago

realized the Americans aren't helping much

*as much as they could

FIFY since we're still doing basically as much financially as the whole of the EU and providing the lion's share of ISR.

Edit: downvote all you like. Facts are facts.

u/LeMe-Two 1d ago

"You" are actually don't. US provides little to no infrastrucrutal and financial relief to Ukraine compared to the EU and were also overtaken this year in lethal aid.

-43

u/wtfredditacct 1d ago edited 1d ago

Spoken like someone who doesn't understand how any of it works. Of course we aren't providing "infrastructure" support from a different continent. The only reason the whole of the EU (27 countries) has financially contributed more than the US (only one country) is because Trump paused aid for a time. Also, the significance of the American ISR contributions can't be overstated because the EU simply doesn't have the capability.

19

u/NickoIsASicko 1d ago

The U.S has also given a lot of aid as loans, and also demanded resource rights in return, so they’re not taking as large of a risk as many European countries who is giving equipment and financial relief for free

18

u/super__hoser ☣️ 1d ago

Lol you clown. You want to compare 27 countries vs 1? How big are most European countries?

The only reason Trump gives a shit is he thinks he can get something, personally, out of it. But he doesn't have the balls to do anything.

And they do, civilians are barely getting any near the front so scarcity is already in effect

52

u/CitizenPremier 1d ago

Russians aren't going to revolt over scarcity though... They have to keep going to make the war logistically impossible

-240

u/yourboi322 1d ago

Conflict began in 2014 "already in effect"

There are fuel shortages in Russia as we speak. For now only on the fringes of the country but it doesn't look good in a country that primary exports are oil related

29

u/briceb12 ☝ FOREVER NUMBER ONE ☝ 1d ago

This is even more stupid than that. Russia is forced to export oil at a discounted price and then import refined fuel at above market prices.

9

u/the_gouged_eye 1d ago

Ah yes, dependency.

0

u/JotaroTheOceanMan 15h ago

They do.

Its so weird how other countries still paint Ukraine as helpless but then again that working in their favor.

1

u/JangoDarkSaber I'll try anything twice 1d ago

Okay but that’s irrelevant if India is buying Russian crude.

Refining it yourself is still cheaper but buying oil that was originally from Russia still funds the war.

u/GrowlingPict 1d ago

That's how it goes sometimes. In 1987 Pink Floyd were essentially bankrolling Roger Waters's lawsuit against them. What else were they gonna do, not perform their biggest songs which were all written or co-written by Waters?

1

u/unicornsaretruth 16h ago

Wait what?? I’ve never heard of this do you have some time to explain?

1

u/GrowlingPict 14h ago edited 14h ago

Well, at least some background and context is needed (but keep in mind that this is very much the abridged version):

In 1979, during the recording of The Wall, Rick Wright is fired from Pink Floyd and the band is now a trio (Rick agrees to leave without a fuss as long as he gets to play on the upcoming Wall tour. The others agree).

In 1983 the band releases its final album with Waters in the lineup.

In 1984 both Waters and Gilmour release solo albums and embark on solo tours, and the following year Nick Mason releases an album as well (with Rick Fenn from 10cc). Everyone knows that Pink Floyd is pretty much over and done with at this point, and so:

In late 1985 Roger Waters issues a press release stating that Pink Floyd has officially disbanded.

In 1986 David Gilmour is recording another solo album, but after it is nearly done decides that the Pink Floyd name will bring in more dough, unlike his previous album and tour. He contacts Nick to get him onboard. Rick is also invited along as an afterthought. Keep in mind that the album is pretty much all done at this point, and that both Nick's and Rick's contributions therefore are miniscule, with some overdubs here and there.

In 1987 the album is released as a Pink Floyd album with the title A Momentary Lapse Of Reason and they embark on a world tour. Roger is not happy about them using the Pink Floyd name for what is essentially a Gilmour solo album, while he himself is releasing a solo album and going on tour under his own name. Roger sues.

All the while the Dry Floyd (no Waters, get it? :p ) continues touring, and in addition to songs from the new album of course also plays a lot of their older and wellknown songs, pretty much all of which Roger has had a hand in writing. Which he then of course gets paid for, meaning they are basically bankrolling Roger's lawsuit against them.

The lawsuit is settled out of court, with the result of David and Nick gaining the rights to the Pink Floyd name; Pink Floyd is now a duo. Rick doesnt become an official member again until 1994 and the release of The Division Bell and subsequent tour.

India is buying unrefined oil from russia. And that thing cost A LOT less than the fuel needed. Attacking refineries makes them lose a shitload of money who are really much needed for the russian army

28

u/OldAssociation7639 1d ago

Cycle of life...

113

u/GustavoFromAsdf 1d ago

Russia doesn't need Ukraine to bomb itself. They already do it with their scorched earth tactics and buying defective NK missilws

79

u/LogicalError_007 1d ago

The EU and US buy a lot more from Russia while placing tariffs on others doing it.

3

u/NitroXDexe 1d ago

Globalization is really crazy, how anyone can think they benefit from war today is even crazier

u/Atirat 1d ago

I don't have a brain, gentlemens, but I have an idea

u/togenari 1d ago

Not only that, but they also buy it overpriced.

1

u/Due_Upstairs_5025 1d ago

This has been going on regarding fuel sales from the get go? OMG how to comprehend this?

1

u/Life_Recording_8938 1d ago

why not buy direct from Iran

1

u/Rimmatimtim22 20h ago

US bought titanium from Russia to build the SR71. Russia help make the plane used to spy on them.

But this is true tho...India refines Russia's crude oil and sells it to Ukraine. This is a fact

u/sonoitaliano2005 1d ago

Yeah but before it was russia refining and selling that oil for a much bigger profit. Now they sell crude for a fraction of the refined fuel price

And Ukraine is at fault here, not any other country. Ukraine also earns from the gas pipelines that supplies russian natural gas to Europe. Tbh at this point I feel sad for Ukrainians, helping russia to bomb its own country.

u/briceb12 ☝ FOREVER NUMBER ONE ☝ 1d ago

Ukraine also earns from the gas pipelines that supplies russian natural gas to Europe.

This is no longer the case since the contracts expired.
