I remember one time at the bank I work at. I was helping a Spanish customer, who had come into the branch without a mask. My banker, in English, politely requested the gentleman wear a mask. No pushback, but the man didn’t have a mask so he was provided one.
He walks up to me, still smiling, and asks, “you speak Spanish right?” So of course I responded yes. And my word, the vulgarities that then started freely pouring from his mouth. Cuss words I had heard all the time, to words he somehow used to make cuss words. Even words that I hadn’t ever heard. Now, he said it all so politely that my other tellers, who don’t speak Spanish, didn’t catch on at all. So that was a funny moment.
