Weebs like anime and certain parts of Japanese culture, meanwhile weeaboos like Japanese culture so much that they are nearly disrespectful towards it and becomes ignorant about the actually bad parts about Japan.
Someone who claims to be Japanese. Even tho he isn't. Learnt most of his Japanese trough anime and thinks he is the main character of an anime... That's how I would describe them. Meanwhile weebs just like anime.

also, its the same thing weeb is a shorter term used for weeaboo some time ago but the meaning of the term somewhat changed with time to now mean what the other guy said
Nah, there aint actually a difference. Weeb is short for weaboo. The thing Is, weeb doesnt really mean what is used to, since everyone that likes anime is just calling themselves a weeb now. So people get it twisted and think that the bad word is weaboo and the lesser bad one is weeb, when in reality the word weeb is just kind of "reclaimed" you could say, i guess, and isnt really used in the derogatory way that it used to be that much.
Weaboooriginallt meant a wannabe japanese, like white people that are so obsessed with anime and japan and use japanese words in their speach, have a lot of anime figurines etc. Basically very cringe, but nowadays it isnt really used that way
"Weeb" generally refers to anime fans, while an "otaku" is someone who's a diehard fan. The kind of fans who not only watch anime, but also read manga, and collected the volumes and merch.
But, a "weaboo" is someone who is so obsessed with Japanese media and culture that they revolve their entire life, personally, and identity around it, idolize everything about Japan irrationally, and are ironically pretty racist towards Asian people due to their idealized perception of Asian people.
