As a weeb I have to say, there is a subcategory of us whose opinions aren’t valid. Also celebs are sometimes so out of touch that their opinions are just not valid

Otaku is probably the word you mean when u say weab. An Otaku coming from the japanese word お宅 (Honourable for someone's home), are people who are completely disconnected from society, don't have a social life or friends, they are often into Popcultural things, spending their time with it instead of getting their life done. They are seen very unpleasant by japanese society and there are many problems in japan what causes these people disconnecting from society. a weab in the other hand is someone who reads a lot of manga or watches anime.

That's why I'm always cringing when someone's referring to them self as an Otaku..

Idk I just watch a lotta anime, not that into the community to know all the terms and stuff
