Just watched a video where he explained that the “father why have you forsaken me” bridge was totally impromptu- Serj didn’t have lyrics for that part, so Rick had him go into his (Rick’s) library in his house, grab a book, and just sing the first words he saw, and the rest is history.

Loving this thread haha. Been a huge SOAD fan from the moment I heard Spiders off the Scream 3 soundtrack and immediately ran out to buy their Self Titled album.

I also still vividly remember the first time I heard Chop Suey on the radio. I was sitting it my Dad's truck alone at the soccer fields while my younger brother was having practice, listening to pass the time lol. And out of nowhere they were like "We've got a brand new single from System of A Down", who I had never even heard played on the radio before. And I remember being SO geeked out over hearing new SOAD, ON THE RADIO, and it kicking so much ass to boot.
