[OC] Just Florida things

Saw this on my way to get some lab work done this afternoon.

I decided to keep driving for a few reasons:

  1. The driver immediately got out of the vehicle, and I saw nobody else in it. They didn't seem hurt.

  2. The insane maneuvers they made had me thinking drugs were potentially involved.

  3. The vehicle behind me was pulling over.

  4. I can't currently afford rescheduling fees for my appointment; but I did all the accident in.

Looks like that driver did this on purpose. Took a sharp right turn straight into the barrier. When the barrier held, decided to go straight backwards into the other barrier. Guessing that she didn't try again since her vehicle was probably disabled by that point.

Either suicide attempt or mental health issues. Sad either way. Hope she gets the help she needs.

Usually, when a vehicle makes a sharp turn like that, it's because something broke. Either the tierod or the ball joint.

If it was a suicide attempt, why would she be standing on the road at the end and not jumping off the bridge?

It's much more likely she was driving distracted, swerved, hit the wall then then freaked out and unintentionally backed up at full speed.

So this is actually an issue of perspective. You can see they hit the water on the side of the road if you look closely. They lose control and are moving at high speed. After hitting the wall the first time, they are still moving quickly enough that the car maintains momentum backwards and slams into the other wall. It just seems like they weren't moving very fast due to the relatively level plain and the zoom.

Yes it looked like hydroplaning to me for sure

Looks like prior to hitting the water they were traveling in the wrong direction direction, so no. This is a driver issue, not water on the road.

Okay so youre saying if you backtrack to 0:07 on the video... That car is going against traffic? Do we have different brains?

It wasn't going against traffic, and it didn't hit a water puddle.

I think something broke on the car: Tie rod or a ball joint, with the ball joint being the most likely culprit.

Yeah... Just Florida. I know this happens no where else.

I don't understand how any of the cars get on the road going in opposite direction. The entrance ramps should prevent that.

They were going the correct direction until they randomly steered into the right barrier; then immediately threw it in reverse (Terry) and slammed into the left barrier.

Which software did you use to zoom in? I've got videos I want to be able to zoom, but don't know what I'm doing.

I have an Android and I used the built-in video editor. Open your video album and long-press on the video you want to edit, then select "Create". I imagine iPhone has something similar.

Oh, thanks, I have to take the card out of the camera to transfer video clips, don't have Bluetooth or wifi in it. I want to get a rear-facing camera as well, should look in to a more modern one.

I got one on Amazon from the brand RedTiger. Pretty good value for the price

I did all the accident in.

Not an accident honestly. Seems to be an intentional collision.
