“Well isn’t that dandy?” Seriously though, the red light crawler is a POS.

97

u/dexter-sinister 7d ago

Was this Ned Flanders driving? Haha

10

u/akira7799 7d ago

Ned Flanders wouldn’t have proceeded past a yellow light…let alone crawl through a red light.

3

u/dexter-sinister 6d ago

I meant the cammer who said “Well isn’t that dandy?”

As if a red light runner getting hit leaves any room for questioning.

I'd say they're more of a red light walker cause what was that

One of my favorite words. My kids hated being called lollygaggers. I told them it’s easy, quit lollygagging.

I hate all these videos with a clear option of who’s at fault. It always asks, who’s at fault?

109

u/Rokey76 7d ago

Whose fault?

24

u/Naschka 7d ago

You! This would not have happened if you...

Had parked the car yourself.

Took away her keys.

Not said she should just leave it wherever she feels like.

You had 3 chances to prevent it!

15

u/HawaiianShirtMan 7d ago

You're looking at it wrong. The house is at fault for existing. It should have shimmed to the side when the car was flyîng at it

11

u/Rokey76 7d ago

What if that house got built too quickly for the car to brake in time?

7

u/Enough-Meaning-1836 7d ago

The building. It came out of nowhere.

Really curious how they got that kind of height. Seems like GTA physics.

4

u/Exam_Adorable 6d ago

I hate that too. When I’m speeding down the road and the building finally renders in when I’m already airborne

And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"

3

u/ilfordax 7d ago

It’s always an Altima.

3

u/MedusaHartz 7d ago

"If you lived here, you'd be home by now."

3

u/Xerorei 7d ago

You will think it was the car, but the building ignored the crosswalk and came out of nowhere.

u/Full_Subject5668 7d ago

It's always the Altima's fault.

Engagement bait

7

u/-ACHTUNG- 7d ago

Engagement bait, like most of the Internet now

11

u/WolfDilf 7d ago

As someone who hasn’t t-boned or ran over anyone ever, I think there’s a case for maybe don’t fly past a bunch of vehicles stopped on the side in case someone is trying to cross.

80% red light runner 20% uncautious driver

After all, I’ve only heard “drive defensively” all of my life.

7

u/Aggravating_Dog8043 7d ago

Sure, but it doesn't change liability here. The runner was masked by the cars on the left.

3

u/WolfDilf 7d ago

I get that, but he could have saved himself a lot of grief and some money too by just being careful.

→ More replies (1)

7

u/mochaphone 6d ago

Those cars were waiting at a left turn signal and had nothing to do with the straight lanes, it's only the fault of the red light runner here

3

u/WolfDilf 6d ago

You are answering a question no one asked. No one said the cars standing still had anything to do with a red light runner.

Now, while legally the fault does lie on the red light runner, common sense would dictate to proceed with caution when your visibility is obstructed.

8

u/ProfPlumInTheLibrary 7d ago

You and I are unpopular in threads like this, but I agree with you. I felt super nervous watching the cammer drive that fast past a canyon of stopped cars blocking vision. You never know what kind of pedestrians or motorcycles, or animals or whatnot might pop out of the gaps.

This time it was a car and it ruined the cammers day and possibly their automobile.

I’m just waiting for the “comparative negligence” crowd to come in here swinging at everyone.

3

u/WombatAnnihilator 7d ago

Someone did blame the cammer for “driving faster than conditions”

6

u/hp433 7d ago

I’m not surprised. I used to work in insurance and occasionally you would get people that would try to blame everything around them instead of accept they were at fault.

Hard to see, but it seems like your light was green. 🤷‍♂️  Where did that car even come from?

510

u/Kemosaby_Kdaffi 8d ago

Looks like he was slow running a red light and got what he deserved. Sucks to be the cam car

232

u/Faenic 8d ago

Slow is an understatement. Three cars go through the intersection before the cam car does. This isn't just trying to beat a yellow, they were straight up just ignoring the traffic lights.

6

u/North_Plane_1219 7d ago

At least he thought it was dandy…

Clearly the Costco truck’s fault, because had the truck been at the intersection the red light runner would have thought twice before running it.

84

u/zzzrecruit 8d ago

Easily your fault. You had the green light, and they were running the red. Your insurance will find you 100% guilty, drop you from coverage, and send you to prison for doing this.

The dumbass running the red light!!

3

u/RMMacFru 8d ago

Since just a split second before impact you can clearly see the car you T-boned had a solid red, it's all on him.

3

u/Lost-Ad7652 8d ago

Obviously it's the traffic light's fault.

3

u/SGAisFlopden 8d ago

The F is that car doing?

8

u/tubadude123 8d ago

Person running red, but also dash cam driver seems to be going pretty fast

9

u/Rubiks_Click874 7d ago

red light runner caused the crash,

but yeah, slow down when you're entering an intersection when you can see nothing, sightlines are blocked. slow down when traveling into stopped traffic

graveyards full of people with the right of way and all that

3

u/notatechnicianyo 7d ago

In florida, you slow down for green lights if you want to survive. People just blast through them like they don't even exist.

2

u/Falcon3492 8d ago

The person running the red light was at fault.

3

u/dallaquif 8d ago

The party at fault is whatever ding dong posted a video that small

3

u/CaoimhinOC 7d ago edited 7d ago

The car that drove out into the path of the video car is to blame.. however the driver could have avoided this incident by driving a little bit more defensively.. entering an area where lots of stationary/slow moving vehicles like this you should really be reducing your speed and raising your awareness of the other vehicles around you, especially since you are approaching a junction and don't have a clear view of what traffic may conflict with your intended path.

1

u/lulu313915 8d ago

Well isn’t that dandy! lmao

Car running the red light and first in line 2 cars on your left for not caring.

1

u/pho3nix916 7d ago

Really?!

1

u/creepjax 7d ago

Damn green light runners, can’t they keep their eyes on the road.

1

u/vassquatstar 7d ago

The guy running the red light.

But if you are quickly passing a long stream of cars who are stopped up at an intersection...this should give some hints to slow down as there may be a reason they are moving very slow. The way the car was slowly moving suggests a mechanical or medical problem.

1

u/Fielton1 7d ago

I wonder if he had passed out or something to be crawling through a red light like that? Or just completely oblivious?...

1

u/AnnoyedVelociraptor 7d ago

I hate to say this, but you cannot enter the intersection unless it is clear. Traffic already IN the intersection has priority.

Was this person in the intersection? I can't see.

1

u/cachemonies 7d ago

That car flipped so easily at 35 mph wow

1

u/RedditReader4031 7d ago

An insurance adjuster will more than likely split the liability with a substantial portion going to the cross traffic driver. The underlying principle is that drivers are supposed to avoid causing and attempt to prevent collisions. Passing those other cars which limits your forward view matters, especially reactive to your speed. Add that the other car may have become trapped in the intersection in the midst of a legal passing and the whole matter will be decided by talking with both drivers and any witnesses.

Kinda obvious. This idiot rolled through a red light at the speed of molasses. No urgency and didn’t even bother to stop and look

1

u/Crooked5 7d ago

Your fault obviously. Don’t go through green lights man

1

u/henfeathers 7d ago

Obviously the fault is 100% with the red light runner. But that was the most blatant display of non-defensive driving I’ve seen in a long time.

1

u/Venator2000 7d ago

Damn, if you can flip a minivan onto its side by running into it going less than 40 miles per hour, I think the manufacturer of that minivan needs to rethink their design.

1

u/whatismyusernamehere 7d ago

It's hard to tell from this angle. Do you mind repeating from a different angle to gain a better perspective?

1

u/Mobile-Quote-4039 7d ago

In Pa it would be your fault because the front of your vehicle hit another driver. They say some bullshit about always being in control of your vehicle. I came over a blind hill to enter 95 and what I saw once over the hill was a drunk driver who reversed into a cab full of drunks completely blocking the shoulder and an active right lane on 95. All I could do was slam on my brakes and slide into the back of the cab. None of these assholes had any flashers or any lights whatsoever,at 11:30 at night. So I got sued for damages to the cab because I was the last one to crash. It didn’t matter that the only choice I had was do what I did(crash into the cabbies trunk) or mow down a bunch of idiots blocking the road.

1

u/Lucidcranium042 7d ago

Are you joking lemmme gues the ol my light was green shenanigans. The person whose fault it is is the person whose fault it was that caused such a. Fault to be had

1

u/illicitazn 7d ago

LOL dumbasses

1

u/BoringJuiceBox 7d ago

RIP Subaru Outback

1

u/Immediate-Rub3807 7d ago

Well it’s obviously the other drivers fault but if you weren’t going so fast and been looking ahead you’d have seen this idiot and slowed down.

1

u/HeadMoose 7d ago

Well, this guy went speeding past all the vehicles and didn't look both ways. It wasn't his fault, but I am sure he could've slowed up at the light and not had to spend a week of his time with talking to insurance and trying to buy a new car. Just drive defensively. There are a lot of distracted morons out there. Stay safe.

The car under the speed limit and with the greenlight is likely to be found legally right. But….: There’s a huge gulf between being right and being wise. Anytime you’re the only vehicle moving at speed through a canyon of cars you’re asking for trouble.
