DISCUSSION Death in the family Spoiler

So I rented Batman: Death In the Family thinking it was a sequel to Under the Red Hood because I wanted to see the scene where Jason and the Joker were in the diner

And yeah I didn’t see anything This movie absolutely sucked and was a horrible hr+ waste 😭

It was a chose your own adventure style comic. If you choose the correct path, you will see a sort of sequel to under the red hood.

It was basically a repackaged of Under the Red Hood into a "choose your own adventure" with new animated scenes for different endings, and I think you have to get the bluray disc to get the options to play all the endings while the digital copy doesn't and a lot more truncated. It's an interesting attempt, but left a lot to be desired because you can tell how low budget and worse looking the new animated scenes are compared to the original animation of Under the Red Hood part.

They didn’t even do the one “useful” storytelling thing they could have, which was tie it to Young Justice.

Let me explain.

Same Batman (Bruce Greenwood) for Under the Red Hood & Young Justice.

They added Nolan North as Clark for the diner scenes, same as YJ.

They could have added a path leading to what they were going to do in YJ.

True the casting was the same but they wanted to do something different with Jason’s story in young Justice, and which ending would be canon to young Justice if you can choose a lot of choices

Don't feel bad. Same thing happened to me because I like going blind into these things. At least the branching paths were fun even if their total runtime was like 30 minutes and they had less variation than telltale games death scene with only 1 or 2 standing out.

I bought the Blu Ray and was highly disappointed. Such a great story in the comics, just a waste. I did not know it was a choose your own adventure when I bought it.
