Question Bitwarden and Startpage being tracked by google?

I turned on settings to block app tracking on DuckDuck Go and i saw that google tried to track my data from Bitwarden and Startpage and i started to question the privacy of those two apps.

If you install it from playstore, google make it necessary to include their binaries in app, so you'll have that.

Didn’t know this, I’m gonna use the apk instead.

If your apk provider is ripping it from playstore then you'll still have those binaries in apk. Only way is if developer publish it somewhere else without those files...in case of Bitwarden it does.

Bitwarden has an official fdroid repository. Get it from FDroid(but you have to add the official bitwarden repository)

https://mobileapp.bitwarden.com/fdroid/repo/

It has the benefit of not having google binaries AND auto updating

Firebase Cloud Messaging (often mistaken for a tracker) is used only for push notifications related to sync and performs absolutely no tracking functions
