Look at those star aviars sitting there. Nice!

It's a dream unless they're below 165g then its a nightmare.

They fly so straight for me!

Exactly the same disc and same colors as the 3 Walmarts I have seen in the Midwest so the weight is probably the same too. All the discs I've seen at Walmart are max weight.

I ended up picking these out

Judge and Truth were two of my first discs and I still use them to this day.

The judge is an incredible throwing putter.

Enjoy!

Still use my Truth as well, iconic starter disc. The way you can drop that thing in with insane arc once it gets a little beat in is a rare quality.

Solid choice if you’re starting out the Escape and Breakout are great as well

Gotta say, not a bad selection for Walmart

I've been waiting for ours to go on clearance. I've seen the same stacks of discs for months now. Haha

u/Electronic-Scar-3415 Jul 10 '25

Fuck yea Rhode Island! We just need some more courses now

8

u/NotYetGenerated Jul 11 '25

We are working hard to build one here in Portsmouth. Should know by end of summer!

5

u/CommanderWoofington Jul 11 '25

Wait what!? Where? Can I help?

1

u/NotYetGenerated Jul 11 '25

Send me a message!

2

u/Hyjinkz Jul 11 '25

I’ve been trying to for months haha 😂 check your messages/chats!

Would love if we could find room somewhere in the center of the state. Warwick/EG/NK area would be great.

1

u/theelectricone Jul 14 '25

Yes indeed, EG/Warwick at Goddard or NK at Wilson or Ryan Park would be awesome.

7

u/cilird Jul 10 '25

Unfortunately Wal-Mart is the only place that was selling my putters for awhile.

u/VizzedBC Jul 10 '25

I'm actually headed up to RI for vacation in a couple of weeks. Any courses around the Narragansett area I should look to play?

5

u/pulloutyourchompers Jul 10 '25

Yes!! There’s a course in South Kingstown on Curtis Corner Rd and it’s like 10-15 minutes from Gansett

2

u/VizzedBC Jul 28 '25

Good rec. That was a fun course. I even made a donation to the pond on 12 in your name.

Glad to hear it!!

u/hobbitwithatowel Jul 10 '25

And Ninigret is just down the road

2

Are you allowed to say that?! /s

2

u/NotYetGenerated Jul 11 '25

Willow Valley is really great. About 20-30 from Gansett, depending on beach traffic. Also, check out Bike Stop for a bite.

u/Sassmaster008 Custom Jul 11 '25

Drive the hour to Central Mass and play the multiple great courses in the area. Maple Hill and Meadowbrook Orchards are great. Mile marker 63 is also a ton of fun

1

u/theelectricone Jul 14 '25

There are three good courses within 20 minutes of Narragansett:

  1. Willow- super wooded course on a horse farm that offers a lot of tough tee shots but the most beautiful hike of the three

  2. Curtis Corner- mostly wooded but more open fairways and a few open field shots.

  3. Ninigret- a mix of whatever you want, three teepad options for each hole. If you're looking for a good scoreable mix of short and long, the Rose layout on UDisc is good. If you're taking the family, play reds and enjoy the grassy wooded fairways.

Bonus options: Dragonfly is 40 minutes west of Narragansett and is awesome. Stonington and Mystic are also awesome little coastal towns nearby.

Just in time for RI championships 😁

7

u/appointment45 Jul 10 '25

Hey, if you want more RI people to play, gotta build more courses in RI! Deerfield was a big step in the right direction. Northern RI needed more than that crackhead infested course in Pawtucket.

3

u/pulloutyourchompers Jul 10 '25

I go to SK, Ninigret, and Richmond. Never tried the Pawtucket course because I’m not around the city much

1

u/daulm Jul 10 '25

I finally made it to RI to try a course and ended up playing Deerfield. I thought it was better than the udisc rating and a good option for locals, but not a course I'm excited to get back to.

1

u/appointment45 Jul 11 '25

Deerfield is brand new, I think they'll adjust a few things before long. Ton of potential there.

4

u/rebelstatik Jul 10 '25

That’s pretty cool. I normally go to Dicks or Academy. There are one or two disc stores near me but I haven’t gone.

5

u/Tangofett4 Jul 10 '25

I've found a lot of comfort as a newer dolfer to chat with the Disc store employees as they have had some really solid advice. I wouldn't have tried the hex if it weren't suggested to me, and I consider it the perfect disc now!

5

u/rebelstatik Jul 10 '25

That’s a good call out for sure. I wish those stores were closer. I live in a big city and even a few miles is a drive.

2

u/Tangofett4 Jul 10 '25

I feel you there. I live in a college town that takes 20 minutes just to go 5 miles any one direction

3

u/timmyb55 Jul 10 '25

Top left: 5ish years ago, that’s the disc set that got me into all of this.

Former ball golfer and could/would never go back. The savings in my first year after switching sports was estimated at about $1200.

… Now we have a private course, are on UDisc and holding free weekly’s in our area. Because this sport is for all and we hope it stays that way🫶🏽

But I’m still not going to Walmart to find discs. Personally, I’d rather spend a little more and shop local with the cool stamps/dyes being more readily available.

1

u/Tastysammich_92 Jul 10 '25

Is disc golf big in your area? It’s not that big where I live, so I’m wondering if that’s why no wal mart near me does this.

3

u/pulloutyourchompers Jul 10 '25

It’s getting more popular but it’s still not super big in RI

1

u/OG_DarkDolphin Jul 10 '25

Ooooh pick me up one of those Orbit Escapes pls👌🏼

1

u/BeefMcPepper Jul 11 '25

Seems like it’s the “small” Walmart store plans that have discs. All the large and super Walmarts don’t seems to carry them

1

u/KiloWhiskey7 Jul 11 '25

lol I know a lot of people hate Dynamic Discs but they are available at Walmart and at this point I’ve owned and thrown 100s.

1

u/THSweet Jul 11 '25

Infinitediscs.com amirite

u/Cultural_Feeling_200 Jul 11 '25

Ayeee nk walmart turn up

-5

u/acemorris85 Jul 10 '25

Why not support a local shop instead

19

u/NavierWasStoked Jul 10 '25

Good luck finding a local disc golf shop in 99% of of the united states

-5

u/DirtyHead420 Jul 10 '25

There's two in Grand Rapids

16

u/dignity_optional Custom Jul 10 '25

Say no more. Starting my 13 hour journey now. Tell them to save an Aerobie putter for me!

4

u/DirtyHead420 Jul 10 '25

Hit me up when you get here and we'll go play Fallasburg

1

u/Waste_Caramel774 Jul 11 '25

2 around ann arbor (I'm aware of) and maybe 1 in flint but it's more of a garage

12

u/pulloutyourchompers Jul 10 '25

I live in Rhode Island. There is literally no local shop lmao

3

u/appointment45 Jul 10 '25

Closest is probably in Dartmouth in MA? Great shop there at Flying Saucers.

4

u/dj92wa Jul 10 '25

Me over here in the PNW where the sport is nearly nonexistent, looking for a mythical shop that sells anything related to the sport. Like legit I think the only place I’ve seen stuff was in the end cap in some random ass Ace Hardware.

4

u/kingcrackerjacks Jul 10 '25

East of the cascades? Yeah there's not many stores apart from a few in Spokane and along i5 in Washington

2

u/JustMeTeemo Jul 10 '25

Where in PNW? Portland has a couple top notch stores

4

u/TDFknFartBalloon Jul 10 '25

My "local shop" is a 90 min drive each way. I buy my discs online because my Walmart doesn't carry them.

1

u/mnxcg Jul 10 '25

Sometimes supporting local isn't an option, as their aren't any or they upcharge so much it's simply not worth it. This goes for a lot of hobbies. I go to my local disc store which is a 45 minute drive one way for me, not bad but the folks that run it (shout out ken and barbie at disc golf today in St. Cloud) are very cool and knowledgeable and don't over charge. But for my other hobby (rc) I don't go to my "local" ship unless I need something now because it's just super spendy, and they mostly carry one brand which isn't my brand.

-6

u/gravgp2003 Jul 10 '25

Don't shop at Walmart.

0

u/Anidmountd Jul 10 '25

You'd think they wouldn't still have Ricky on their box sets. Normally Walmart clearances out the things at the end of the season or during mod changes. Not heard of them shipping stuff back but very specific things like pool chemicals.

I'm just glad I kind of got a local ship that sells some discs of a decent variety.

0

u/Heavy_Match3744 Jul 11 '25

support local they support you

0

u/Historical-Ant-1242 Jul 11 '25

Nobody wants that DD garbage

-4

u/ChefGiants78 Jul 10 '25

Stop shopping at walmart.

1

u/Sufficient_Major_860 Jul 10 '25

??

1

u/Humpuppy Jul 11 '25

If some random guy on the internet stops shopping there they will go out of business and the world will be saved.

-1

u/FishermanExpensive Jul 11 '25

Don’t buy discs at freaking Wal-Mart dude. Support your local course and buy from the pro shop.

1

u/Waste_Caramel774 Jul 11 '25

There isn't any around me. I will spend my money at Dunhams, walmart before driving an hour to the closest store.
