Diagnosed with grade 1 endometrial cancer.

Diagnosed on 8/1. I had an ultrasound yesterday that shows a tumor in the uterus and a 36mm endometrial lining. According to the doctor 36mm is way abnormal. CT scan in scheduled for 8/28. I am curious what others experienced with the CT scan? Did it show more than the ultrasound? How thick was your lining? Sorry for all the questions. I am just trying to wrap my mind around all of this.

Have you had any biopsies? If not how were you diagnosed with grade 1 endometrial cancer? What type of endometrial cancer do you have?

I did have a biopsy, it was Grade 1 Adenocarinoma.

This is what I had! And mine was 22mm as well i can’t recall exactly but i think normal is 10mm or less

Ik i also have pcos so i was skipping periods but the lining was still there and kept growing and cells mutating into the adenocarcinoma

I did have a biopsy through a D&C procedure, had ultrasounds, an MRI to see if there was any myometrial invasion (where cancer has invaded from lining into uterine muscle wall)

We tried megestrol to see if it helped (for me it did not possibly because i also have pcos and messed up hormones because of it) — i refused to do IUD though it was given as an option because I 1. Dislike the idea and way IUDs are pushed on women because they ARE painful to insert and take out, come with risks like infection or puncturing the walls they are connected to etc etc and I was not concerned about preserving fertility like my dr kept pushing on me (I’m 30F), i was fine adopting if i ever wanted kids in the future. Also IUD does not stop cancer it just prevents the hysterectomy temporarily if the caver reacts to hormone based treatments (which mine did not as shown by the megestrol failure), even after having a D&C procedure, and taking megestrol for 6 months we did another in office biopsy and the adenocarcinoma had come back despite clearing it out with the D&C.

The only way to 100% get rid of the cancer without risks was through hysterectomy. I kept my ovaries. I had my surgery in June.
