Diagnosed with grade 1 endometrial cancer.
Diagnosed on 8/1. I had an ultrasound yesterday that shows a tumor in the uterus and a 36mm endometrial lining. According to the doctor 36mm is way abnormal. CT scan in scheduled for 8/28. I am curious what others experienced with the CT scan? Did it show more than the ultrasound? How thick was your lining? Sorry for all the questions. I am just trying to wrap my mind around all of this.

My lining was 43mm thick. Biopsy said grade 1 adenocarcinoma. Post hysto was grade 2, stage 1b with 64% myometrial invasion and the tumor was 7cm or the size of an apple. I wouldn’t get too in the weeds with the thickness that’s been extrapolated from the ultrasound for correlating to a final grade/stage of cancer. For one, your lining thickness can fluctuate even if you’re postmenopausal. Secondly, it’s an educated measurement, but not 100% exact. The variation of where and how the ultrasound tech measures the endometrial lining can greatly affect this number. My CT after the TVUS confirmed that I had a mass, it was big but didn’t identify any suspicious areas in the pelvic region. This correlated with the final post op pathology report.
