Eyy we had a big storm in the north of Spain too. Crazy heat then hail and thunderstorm, then crazy heat. Even hotter today!

But the forecast for Sunday is an hellish 28°c. Luckily will drop again to 23°c next Wednesday.

Is that weather common there in Portugal? I thought it was similar to Spain's hell... Until today!

No, it's not common in most of Portugal - but it's common where I live: mild winters, mild summers. Sometimes a bit windy in winter but other than that great weather.

Just a few days temps ranging from 30-33°c in summer, just a few nights in winter drops to 4~5°c.

Most of summer ranges from 23-26°, most of days during cold months ranges 14-16°c during day.

It's in the 'Oeste' (west) region, by the Atlantic Ocean. But if you go to the interior or south or even north/north-north interior you have far higher temperatures.

Some years ago I went for holidays in Alto Alentejo - almost exactly East from where I live, but in the interior close to Spain's border in late August. I left my place with a nice summer day with 22°C outside @13h30 or so, after 30~40km driving to the interior - in Rio Maior was 32°c outside, when I stopped my car in Alentejo was 42°c.

Fortunately my car has AC. But when I stopped, open the door and put my foot outside it seemed I was literally entering in a oven.

I believe Aveiro, a bit further north but near the sea/ocean too has similar weather as my region.

So if you ever come to Portugal and there's a weat wave, now you know where to escape from the heat. :)

Wow, thanks for all the explanations! I'd like to visit Portugal one day, I will surely remember your advice! I guess the closeness to the Ocean helps a lot with the weather! What about Porto? Is it an exception due to the "concrete hell" or we can hope to find a mild weather as well?

Weather app says it's 24 here, but car was giving me 28, and it's an old one with no ac. I've never been close to fainting from the heat inside of that box... Hands and knees were shaking when I finally parked.
