Tbh I'm honestly shocked that all of the MEPs for Czechia actually agreed on something uninanimously. You know the idea is horrible if liberals, hyper-conservatives, communists, and capitalists are all trying to shoot it down.

I can't see why some countries support it though, since it can't be just to protect children.

Is the Czech government really this bad? Damn, I love the Czech republic, I didn't even know that

Our politics are actually not that bad imo, it's just that there are absolutely huge differences between the campaign goals of the different parties.

For example, the communists and SPD party (the former are pretty much just renamed pre-1989 Czech communists wanting to erode democracy, and the latter are pro-Russian hyper-conservatives, who promote themselves through xenophobia, racism, and so on) both want to start a referendum on us leaving the EU and NATO (they somehow think that that would benefit us in any way). And so the more ordinary (and much more democratic) parties are saying that even the idea about leaving those organizations is insane and that those two parties want to end democracy here, which is definitely true.

Our current government isn't really anything too great tbh (they're very good with the foreign relations things, but the domestic policy had a few bumps over those 4 years), but it's much, much better than the loons that could've been there instead of them.

Im not. The government has been pushing for control over internet in the last few years, a few exemples being asking for telegram backdoor, asking for mozilla dns filtering (not really privacy but censor) and probably the same with opendns being the reason its not available anymore in France
