Narrator: it is

u/oneplusetoipi 2d ago

A country that is killing, raping, stealing from, subjugating, genociding, hacking, polluting, undermining governments from other countries is my enemy.

80

u/Ciordad 2d ago

Now come on, what alternatives are available, if we’re ruling out killing, raping, stealing from, subjugating, genociding, hacking, polluting, undermining governments from other countries?

10

u/uxgpf 2d ago

Poisoning, irradiating, pushing down from an open window/balcony and shooting down airliners.

Russia is not an enemy.

Would you want to come over for some polonium tea, friend?

7

u/AlmightyRobert 2d ago

Surely kidnapping children as well

0

u/watcherofworld 2d ago

Europe would be the preeminent superpower if it could leave behind liberalism and pick up the flag of progressivism.

4

u/uxgpf 2d ago

Europe would be a superpower if we grew a spine and did what we say is right and just.

FTFY

In Europe it's the case of: "First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

If we stood up for what is right and good we would crush Russia in weeks.

u/drivingagermanwhip 2d ago

could you narrow it down a bit more

u/Forsaken_Potential16 2d ago

You just described almost all powerful countries.

And all this is brazen Russophobic propaganda. There is a refutation for almost every position.

Ones a temporary shit show whilst russia is cancer all the time.

-14

u/Zarndell 2d ago

Temporary? You think we're talking about Trump? The US has been doing all of the above for maybe as long if not longer than Russia/USSR...

11

u/Traditional-Candy-21 2d ago

Yes i am indeed, the yanks have many blood stains on their hands but ruzzia, ruzzia is one big blood stain.

4

u/Sexul_constructivist 2d ago

Ah yes the isolationist USA, that does coups around the world. Or the evil USA which checks note wanted self determination after WW1. Amerika has a lot of problems, but they are, at least nominally, on the side of freedom and democracy.

4

u/Zarndell 2d ago

Because you don't like what I said? The US through CIA has destabilized countries and changed leaders for many, many decades.

What the US didn't do though is bloodbaths at the level Russia is used to. But there's a lot of stuff the US did, and still does to an extent.

The truth is, the only reason people care about Russia, is because the war is at EU/NATO borders. That's all.

3

u/Icy-Guard-7598 2d ago

What the US didn't do though is bloodbaths at the level Russia is used to. But there's a lot of stuff the US did, and still does to an extent.

So they are not the same level of evil, right? So when we accept that all countries have some sort of stain on their hands (at least historically) than we can accept that Russia is simply the worst. Right?

There was a polish president who died in a plane crash in russia, who warned everyone of russia after the 2008 invasion of Georgia

10

u/Traditional-Candy-21 2d ago

I did, i gave a fuck right back when putin bombed the apartments in russian to kick off the war in Chechnya, when he abandoned the men of kursk to hide the corruption of thr navy, when he had Anna Politkovskaya murdered in his birthday and boris nematov shot dead outside the kremlin.

51

u/Arios84 2d ago

what are you talking about peopel in Europe have been wary of russia ever since putin changed the russion constitution to allow him further terms as president.

Russia also had their hands in the middle east, why do you think Asad was so buddy with putin -.-

How to say ‘I’m not defending Russia’ while…defending Russia and deflecting through whataboutism. This thread is about Russian propaganda, their interference in the domestic politics of European countries and the very real threat this poses to liberty and to democracy across this continent.

17

u/GreenEyeOfADemon 🇮🇹 - EUROPE ENDS IN LUHANSK! 🇺🇦 Слава Україні!🇺🇦 2d ago

The "I'm not defending russia" is usually the incipit of someone defending russia.

20

u/Pekonius Suomi Finland 2d ago

You are a Russian immigrant living in czech republic. Its clear what side you are on and anything you say will come with clear bias

But several years later when conflict will again transfer  to Middle east or Pakistan you all will forget about russia immideately

Nah, don't count on that. This second invasion of Ukraine is showing once and for all the true face of russia. A friendly reminder: It's not putin who is r*ping, looting, torturing, m*rdering unarmed pows in Ukraine.

3

u/Arios84 2d ago

hm you are actually right, I thought he changed it after Medvedev left office considering that putin already had 2 terms at that point...

Didn't think he was just president without consitutional right... my bad

Him becoming president after Medvedev was what I meant.

Also yes I have been considering the states as problematic since Bush Jr invaded Irak... but the USA has a more amicable history with europe then russia so nobody gave it much thought (besides making fun of the guy that was unable to read a newspapaer the right way around)

4

u/Fistulated 2d ago

There was loads of protests across the west against the US and Western governments invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan?

The US has been called out for it's imperialist wars for years . . .

Now Russia is stealing land and trying to subjugate the population of a Ukraine, they are being called out for it.

1

u/RichFoundation3015 2d ago

And neanderthals too. But do you think that russkies can attack sovereign country because neanderthals and cro-magnons did that too?

27

u/Lasolie 2d ago

You don't live in reality. The entire, solitary reason why Finland, my country, has a military, is Russia.

14

u/mmixLinus Sweden 2d ago

Ok so by "give a fuck" you mean invade Russia and change their government. Well that sounds easy. Why do nuclear holocaust memories of the 80s come to mind?

And you also think we all didn't notice the deteriorating state of democracy in Russia, long before 2014...

8

u/Kalagorinor 2d ago

Are you serious? Russia has been engaging in wars and other underhanded maneuvers since long before 2014.

And not to excuse the US, but changing governments is pretty different from attempting to conquer a country with the stated goal of suppressing its existence. Not to mention the number of casualties (including both sides) in Ukraine is on a whole different scale.

3

u/Professional-Air2123 Finland 2d ago

You haven't been paying attention to European history and our lives before 2014 I guess. USA is bad too, but it is tiring to head whataboutism when talking about one country at a time.

Dude I don't have all day or list each individual relationship, so I will give one example and rest you have to Google yourself, but even before 2014 Russia had been spying other countries and everyone knew that, and they did intentional fly-overs on other countries air spaces to taunt us, and in Finland they tried to buy land near areas with tactical importance and when they were caught it became illegal to sell your land/house in certain areas to Russians. Western countries are wrong about many things, but we can also talk about Russia's wrongs without constantly shifting the topic to some other country's wrongs. We already have discussions for other countries wrongs, and you can make new discussions anytime.

u/Professional-Air2123 Finland 2d ago

Not every country has spies, as popular as that image is. World had mostly moved on, capitalism is more tempting than imperialist political ideology. For many at least. You are asking proof of people's attitudes towards Russia, and want it to be governmental level decision making. If you really think governments represent people's will you haven't been paying attention to politics at all. But like I said: look for the info yourself, I don't have time to educate you, especially if you don't approve my examples, then it's up to you.

Last time the US militarily invaded a European country in an effort to grab more territory?

7

u/crevicepounder3000 2d ago

I don’t even know what that means. My point is that at least the US doesn’t invade Europe in order to take land, but Russia does. Europe is, to an extent, a willing subject of the US though if that’s what you are trying to say. However, the danger it poses to Europe is very different from the one Russia does

3

u/AdorateurDefait 2d ago

The friend of my ennemy is my ennemy.

5

u/RichFoundation3015 2d ago

Whataboutism. But yes, US bad too. How is this changing the situation in Ukraine? russkies can do that because chenghis chan was doing the same?

"Every government has some level of corruption, therefore you shouldn't bother to criticise the worst governments"

Last I checked, the vast majority of countries are not in the process of annexing their neighbours

Every time Russia pulls some dumb or nasty shit those single-purpose agit-prop/disinformation accounts flood the comment sections.

‘It was, however, our enemy’

52

u/Lari-Fari Germany 2d ago

Why is „not my enemy“ running a propaganda campaign in my country? Is that what friends do?

16

u/Familiar-Self5359 2d ago

It's not so much "propaganda" as it is "informative," comrade. Soon you'll get to know the truth...once they tell it to us from the Kremlin.

Nah. Comrade Ivan Ivanovich is very trustworthy. Once he sent a bag of onions to my friends babushka when he was delayed in Ukraine for some reason.

1

u/4uk4ata 2d ago

Come on, who hasn't had an abusive, manipulative SO? That's just how Russia shows love!

33

u/MrSoapbox 2d ago

Russia has been my enemy since 2004 when they would invade my randoms with bullshit cheating premades in warsong gulch. Actually probably even before that with their rampant cheating in CS, because they’re incapable of fighting with skill. A bit like in Ukraine where the troops can only take on civilians and children.

5

u/Lifting_Pinguin 2d ago

I am a swede with a history interest, as far as I am concerned Russia has been my enemy since 1700.

2

u/ArtisZ 1d ago

Counterstrike scene.. the difference.. between rusnya players and virtually anyone else. If that's not representative on their mindset, I don't know what is.

2

u/East_Leadership469 2d ago

I mean, why do we allow them to spread propaganda again? Did the UK allow nazi propaganda after the start of WW2?

1

u/ErebosGR Earth 2d ago

1

u/East_Leadership469 2d ago

That really shows you how far away we still are from a wartime economy. We allow a private business to cooperate in spewing enemy propaganda.

0

u/Classic-Exit4189 Albania 1d ago

It isnt. Russia is fighting a proxy war with the united states. Europeans are just vassals.

-31

u/Behindy0u90 2d ago

Tbh it isn’t. Check the deals made since the 1990.
