Problem is always the Greens in the UK, always attracts US-style "crunchy moms" and aging hippies. Very anti science, technophobic, cannot think outside their own village etc. 

What they need is a German style split into the Realos and Fundis.

As a (former) green Voter, it was baffling to see the UK version. From ivory tower, green tainted wealthy people and Mums who pay €9 for cruelty-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, taste-free yoghurt to people sucking on crystals.

From "why don't you just buy a heatpump for your house?" and "why don't you just buy an EV?" to the equivalent of a horoscope page.

The crazy thing? Their manifesto and election promises (I know, more than a grain of salt) look quite appealing:

[...] major investment into the NHS, raising tax on those earning more than £50,270 a year, nationalising Britain's railways, water companies and largest energy companies, expanding renewable power, campaigning for councils to be given the right to set rent controls and ban no-fault evictions.

The sort of thing one might expect from a supposedly left wing, Labour oriented party. Shame the UK doesn't have one of those.

Those utilities were privatized because state bankrupted them. It came with requirements of massive investments into trashed infrastructure. It can be nationalised And it will likely be nationalised in some capacity but it will not be free and I really wonder why anyone should expect different result than what happened last time.

As for the "left policies". Left wing parties were originally workers parties. Today they are anti worker parties. Raising taxes on people that already pay 55.8% off of their raw income above 50k prior to any other taxes like VAT, etc is trully genious and novel idea and will certainly not lead to worse outcomes. There is only so much you can squeeze out of people.
