Misogyny is "cool" as long as you package it to kids as something "modern" and "hip" and not the same thousands-of-years-long crap that has always been a drag on society.

It's disguised as counterculture, so they feel rebellious, which enhances the pride and sense of belonging. That's why part of the public fell into a trap of odd narration about the world failing boys. Painting it as something modern is just another step, and an act of adaptation by the other scammers (politicians).

Yep, the entire conspiracy community online was captured by the alt-right as well. Obviously influenced by far right agents. Same psychology, conspiracy theory is huge with people with not much going on for themselves because it makes them feel intelligent and part of something for being in the “know.” It’s just appealing to the lowest denominator.
Look at Rogan. Went from talking about aliens and Bigfoot to being a hyper masculine alt-right influencer. You could basically see it happening in real time on 4chan and the conspiracy subs as they shifted from “the elites are pedophiles” to “the left are pedophiles.”

The far-right and the muslim extremists should love each other. Their values are almost a 100% match, if it wasn't for racism they would be best buddies.

Even going into a specific religion, the sectarian hatred is remarkable. Fundamentalist Baptists and Trad Caths may differ on the saints and veneration of Mary but want all the same societal restrictions in place. They hate each other though

Joke from the comedian Emo Phillips:
Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"
He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"
He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"
"Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over.

u/casastorta 10h ago
I see you’ve never heard of Bosnian Muslims. Before the 1990s wars in Yugoslavia they ate bacon in tons, mostly with some exceptions. They’ve got a kind of national/identity awakening during the war so they now mostly avoid pork.
But schnapps (rakija), oh boy, alcoholism is still very much huge part of their national identity, even more maybe than it was in Yugoslavia.
Islam, as every other major religion, is very flexible in bending the rules when expanding.
→ More replies (1)9
u/betterlogicthanu Bosnia and Herzegovina 9h ago
This is just wrong. Bacon/pork was never that popular. In my set of villages, of 5,000-10000 people you would have maybe 1 Muslim family who ate pork.
Alcohol is more common yes. But even that is dying off, as well even with the non Muslim population. Alcohol in general is just becoming less popular.
But a weird thing Ive noticed is non religious people who see a Muslim/Christian committing some sin that their religion forbids, as like some sort of gotcha against religion. Thats not how it works. No religious person sees that as something that falsifies their religion, in fact fighting against sin is one of the reasons people turn to religion.

bodybuilding is not as effective as martial arts training (at least, for a similar level of visibility, i.e. also being undercover), so I'd hope for the latter. Something like karate or muay thai would be ideal. But also, having at least the same number of fighters on your team is also important (for a N vs N scenario).

Nowadays algorithms force the clash of idea and push people into groups. "Us vs Them" is literally the best strategy to generate comments/debates and going viral. Most social networks base their forums with this intent. And you know what pairs well with that? false propaganda

Prelude to follow-up headlines - teen males in Poland report loneliness epidemic.
179
u/Blueskyways 11h ago
Half convinced that the incel thing is a fucking op setup to make young men angry, stupid and single, perfect recruits for all kinds of heinous shit.
103
u/EebilKitteh The Netherlands 11h ago
It is. Angry, disappointed people are the easiest target.
Meanwhile the gap between boys and girls is widening. Most (not all) women would rather be single than be with these types even if that means not having a family.
→ More replies (2)70
u/TSllama Europe 11h ago
It literally is. Fascists found a way to manipulate young men, prey on their insecurities, and turn them into fascist sympathizers.
They make young men into hateable humans and people that no girl can stand to be around, then they make the young men believe that it's the girls' faults and blame feminism and whatever. Then they're susceptible to the fascist pipeline.
I have male former students who've told me about this first-hand, about how they were sucked down that pipeline for a spell before they managed to get out.
→ More replies (5)5
u/Backyard_Intra 7h ago edited 7h ago
This. The loneliness epidemic started first, incel came later as some heinous people saw vulnerable young people and thought "hey, we can make a cult out of this!”
I think it's important to keep this in mind when dealing with people who identify as such. It's a fine line between not tolerating bullshit, but also not driving them deeper into the arms of this movement.
And maybe acknowledge that boys and men are increasingly struggling to find meaning because society has failed to catch up with modern gender roles and education fails to engage them.
We don't have to go backwards, we have to go forwards. The women's role has improved for the better (until recently at least), but they remain relatively unchanged for men. They are simultaneously expected to do the same thing they always were, yet no longer can do.
So step 1 is to stop shaming men for living with their parents, for not having had (loads) of sex - i.e. for not excelling in their (old fashioned) gender role. Every shaming incels for their loneliness and celibacy is actively contributing to the problem.
→ More replies (3)3

I've never seen anything like this in public, only some meme videos. And even in those videos nobody harassed anyone, it's usually some ran down car with SZON PATROL sticker on it and that's pretty much it. It's probably being blown out of proportion like everything else media touches.

Couple notes:
- If you wondered what influencers ever influence - there you have it.
This seems to be directly taken from couple of streames and taken to the actual physical concept. - It mainly occurs in shopping malls (?)
- Also it's not just incels. There are girls who basically do this to harass other girls they probably would w/o this "movement". It's a mess, honestly.
- My take: Also the political situation in Poland doesn't help, because recently we had a lot of adults doing "natonal patrols" (patrol obywatelski) in similar vest to pretty much catch illegal immigrants and do political protests while doing it. I know some of teenagers saw this as insanely cool and my conclusion is they want to be part of similar thing.
- Also "szon" among younger folks seem to be more and more an umbrella slur for people we don't like, and not just a slut. (similar to how "kurwa" long forgot it's escort meaning)

Pole here. Unfortunately, it's only the top of an iceberg. Boys 13-16 are acting crazy these days in here. There is a lot of racist harassment driven by politics and TikTok. Just examples I came across recently (only around me):
- In my neighbourhood - Warsaw - some teens painted a Ukrainian kid with dicks and vulgar words
- 3 kids attacked my physiotherapist, they were riding a Bolt scooter and kicking people
- One girl who works for my client on summer camps told us a story of Polish boys 14-16 harassing Bulgarian kids in Bulgaria "cause they are Roma"
