Her mother also got killed in the attack.

At least they were together. Genuinely the worst thought as a mother is my child experiencing something like that alone. Much better to be together in their final moments

and as a mother, also waking up everyday knowing they were dead. I'd rather go with them.

I remember a scene from Man in the High Castle (?) on Prime Video.

A woman was unknowingly waiting with her kids in a gas chamber designed as a sitting room. Her kids were resting near her and she realized they were too peacefully asleep and looked up and saw a vent. Knew her kids were gone.

She knew she was next.

But she didn't fight it. I wouldn't either. I wouldn't leave them.

I couldn't watch the show after that. I don't know if she died. Literally the last scene I remember.

I was telling my 12 year old about my grandmother being sent to farms in England during WW2 for safety. Her family barely managed that visa as well. Her mother went to and died in a concentration camp and her father and brother went to a refugee/work/labor camp. I can't even imagine being my great grandma freaking out about where to send her daughter. She sent my grandma away at the same age as my daughter. When I told my kid, it genuinely hit me in a different way given everything in the world. 😞 I'm glad for my great grandmother's sake she knew her daughter was safe in England

It’s so heavy.

I’m glad you can talk about that with your daughter.   It’s important.

I’d need a short term specific behavioral therapy series to be able to talk about something like that with my kids without breaking down into ugly tears.  Not exaggerating.

Our children are our entire hearts add one day they will just be out there…. Without us… fuck.  It would always be hard to feel this but you’re right—with the way things are right now it’s just devastating.

Your great-grandmother is a hero! She may have died, but she won in the end. And there's a likelihood that she probably knew that, with her daughter safely in England. The Nazis tried to purge your bloodline and failed.

Excellent series. Evokes emotion.

Yep.  I wish I could finish it.  Evokes so much emotion I have to leave the room even after the TV is off.

If I remember correctly, she was Frank’s sister and was only held hostage by the Japanese police bc they wanted Frank to tell them where his gf was. But when he finally told them, it was too late and his sister and her kids were already dead

So she died.  I figured.  Thanks for telling me.

Born, deeply loved, died with comforting arms of their mother. I mean, I hate to say it, but many don’t even get that.

What an odd thing to say

I'm saying that as a mother. My child being bombed to death alone... Hearing the bombs coming... Biggest fear. I'd rather be with her

I can tell this person isn't a parent.

If my child dies, especially when they're young I would hope I would die too. I couldn't imagine living through that grief.

I mean at least they both can't feel anything anymore. RIP
