Once they secured their own sphere they'd expand, just as any empire tends to do. Arabs talk very openly online about how they'd want to islamify everything if they could. If Israel disappeared it would take a few years, maybe decades but at some point if another ottoman empire forms we'd have a big problem on our hands. Easier to just prevent it like we've been doing the last century.

I did not know that, don't particularly care either, that doesn't change anything about the point I was making. And considering how often those countries are bombed whenever they're about to get stable it seems that a lot of western leaders agree.

The only reason Hezbollah and Hamas exist is because of Israeli aggression against neighbouring countries.
