What do you know about... the UK?

This is the sixth part of our ongoing weekly series about the countries of Europe. You can find an overview here.

Todays country:

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The UK is the second most populous state in the EU. Famous for once being the worlds leading power, reigning over a large empire, it has recently taken the decision to exit the EU.

So, what do you know about the UK?

They're unusually bad at esports for some weird reason

There are a few decent players on OW and LoL but yea, for a country the size of the UK it fails massively in eSports.

I'd say the only one right now is Alphari. Snoopeh, Fredy122 and Kasing at least were good at some point. Compared to the Danish or Swedish that is pretty pathetic to be honest.

Can't really argue against that.

There are a few handful of note-able players outside LoL in like DotA2, OW, SC2 and lesser known titles but in reality these are just footnotes.

In comparison to, as you said, Sweden and Denmark it's totally garbage.

France and Germany also have fairly good scenes although not quite as high as it should going by population and such but they still blow the UK out of the water.

The only real equivalent would be like Italy and Spain who also don't really achieve what they should.

Don't worry, I'm only Platinum at the moment but I'm sure I'll be ready for the next Overwatch World Cup.
