What do you know about... the UK?

This is the sixth part of our ongoing weekly series about the countries of Europe. You can find an overview here.

Todays country:

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The UK is the second most populous state in the EU. Famous for once being the worlds leading power, reigning over a large empire, it has recently taken the decision to exit the EU.

So, what do you know about the UK?

When you put it that way it makes us sound like the best nation ever

We are. If not the best we're definatly top 3 or so.

The absurd anti-UK circle jerk in this sub doesn't change anything. There's a reason so many Europeans come to live here and there's a reason they're all so butthurt that the UK rejected them.

things I know about the UK #1: there is always someone with a union jack flair claiming that there is an anti-UK circlejerk on /r/europe while also slagging off every other nation for dumbshit reasons

To be fair, the anti British circle jerk on this sub is pretty obvious. Feels like home.
