Question/Comment Send your EU Representatives a message and help to stop ¨Chat Control¨ - Part 2

Yesterday, I posted about the fact that if the “Chat Control” proposal is adopted, we will no longer have any privacy. I also indicated that if we want to stop this proposal, we can send a message to our EU representatives with this request. The website where you can do this and where sending such a message is made very easy is: https://fightchatcontrol.eu/

If your country is already opposed to this proposal and you wonder whether it is still necessary to send a message to your EU representatives?

Yes, this is definitely necessary. People can change their minds, and we need to let them know that we are against this proposal so that they are not suddenly persuaded to vote in favor of it.

Can you also send messages to EU representatives from other countries?

Yes, you certainly can. The largest countries with the most EU representatives are Germany (96, undecided), France (81, in favor), Italy (76, in favor), and Spain (61, in favor). As things stand, the proposal will be adopted. To prevent this, we must persuade these countries to vote against it!

The other day I sent an e-mail to a dozen German news sites. They are pivotal right now in the legislation. They are leaning oppose, but if they change their minds, we're screwed since they get the 65% majority. I think the issue is generally not discussed enough in news sites, and the average (offline) Joe doesn't know enough about it, so I asked them if they'd like to publish more stories about it. I made sure to reference fightchatcontrol.eu and hopefully my little action has a cascading effect 🤞
