They've got so much negativity online, poor guys were so nervous during semi. They deserved that win!

And it's still going on, even in this sub out of all places. Ah, it's all pity votes, Ukraine didn't deserve to win the semi, Ukraine is just like Israel, and so on.

Come on, if any other country sent an unconventional rock song, it would be everyone's darling. But Ziferblat has undergone so much scrutiny and online hate (especially from Spanish fans on Twitter, wtf), while being such sweet sugar buns... I just don't get it.

Next year, I fully expect any Vidbir winner to experience a mental breakdown because of all this hate and additional pressure of not being allowed to finish anywhere outside of top-10.

It’s so nice to read these comments online because I also think Ukraine has strong acts almost every year and I do love these sweet sugar buns, they are adorable 🥰

Are the Spanish fans still salty about Chanel on Twitter? Haven't looked at Twitter since it became X but they really need to grow up.

All the haters conveniently forgetting that Ukraine has always sent quality to Eurovision. That's why they do well.

And if people are moved by Ziferblat's song of hope during difficult times and  want to give a few votes to Ukraine out of support, it's happening organically, because of how people themselves feel, and not through a coordinated campaign.

Yes, some part of them are. Saying really ugly things about Ukraine and all that. But I'm glad that it's only a small part, the Spanish public gave 10 points to Ukraine and it can't be only diaspora votes. It's just that haters are the loudest.

I'm just happy that Ukraine still sends something different and unique each year and doesn't go with the safest options. I loved Ziferblat's entry because it's the kind of music I'm normally listening to, and I understand that it might not be everyone's cup of tea. But after seeing their performance in the finals, I was convinced that they absolutely deserve to be in the top 10.

Someone should tell the Spanish fans that it's much better to lose Eurovision than to have your country invaded and bombed every day, your children kidnapped to Russia, your land mined, the best of your young generations dead in war.

I'm sure it's not only diaspora votes, so many people appreciate a rock song at Eurovision. Just look at Måneskin and all the people saying they love Ziferblat on this sub. The song really grew on me, I was amazed by their semi-final staging and performance. It was magical.

It's weird to me, really. I've seen people acting like Ukraine and Israel are the same, when they're really not.

They think that Ukraine gets a lot of pity votes for being invaded by Russia. And sure, maybe a few people do. But they also send amazing songs and kill it every year. They completely deserved 2nd place last year and I will die on that hill. And this year's song is one of my most listened to (and sung along to). Ukraine tries, and they succeed.

Israel doesn't bother to try and succeeds. That's the difference.

Also, Ukraine has nowhere near the amount of money to spend on advertising. Even for the actual performance, the budget this year was extremely low. I doubt that anyone has seen ads calling to vote for Ukraine.

the ads from ukraine were from ziferblat themselves making funny montage on Paint they posted on their social medias lol (i'd say its a more effective way of advertising though lol, if only more people saw them)

I don't get how they can't have noticed that Ukraine has the single best record in Eurovision history. From before the invasion, from before the annexation. They first won in their second year ever, like. They have always been an extremely beloved country at Eurovision.
