Eurovision countries by their longest Top 10 streak (SINCE 2004)

Currently we have a tie between Greece and Italy for the longest ever top 10 streaks. Greece had theirs from 2004 to 2011, however had Aphrodisiac (Greece 2012) placed top 10, their streak would have extended to 10 years in a row. Italy’s streak is currently ongoing and has been since Occidentali’s Karma (Italy 2017). I think it’s pretty likely that, unless some disaster occurs in Sanremo 2026, Italy will extend their streak and break the record. In terms of the other powerhouses, Ukraine is currently ongoing its longest top 10 streaks, with theirs starting with Shum (Ukraine 2021), while Sweden’s current streak is not its longest. Sweden’s 6-year streak was from 2014 to 2019, and they currently have a streak of 4, coming top 10 every year since Hold Me Closer (Sweden 2022). The only other currently participating countries with ongoing streaks greater than 1 year are France, Switzerland, and Israel. Which countries do you think could get long streaks in the near future?

Azerbaijan is so interesting, since I never hear anybody fangirling over it yet it's apparently fairly successful lol.

Azerbaijan finished in the following positions between 2009 and 2013: 3rd in 2009, 5th in 2010, 1st in 2011, 4th in 2012, and 2nd in 2013. Their songs were all by Swedish songwriters during this period, which could help explain why they scored so high those years.

I always thought those entires were great though. Like we can debate whether how high of a placement they deserved but I wasn’t surprised to see them do well at least. I found it deserved as Azerbaijan really raised the bar back then

It's not that they lost the plot, it's that style changed and they did not adapt

Surprisingly, none of them were co-written by Thomas G:Son. However, other Swedish songwriters such as Anderz Wrethov (Azerbaijan 2009, Cyprus 2018, Sweden 2019, Sweden 2021. and Sweden 2025), Anders Bagge (Azerbaijan 2010, Azerbaijan 2012, 2nd place to Cornelia Jakobs (Sweden 2022) at Melodifestivalen), Sandra Bjurman (Azerbaijan 2010, Azerbaijan 2011, Azerbaijan 2012, Azerbaijan 2017), and Stefan Örn (Azerbaijan 2010-2012) were involved in Azerbaijan’s entry.

There were no Swedish songwriters involved with Azerbaijan 2013, but Dimitris Kontopoulos (Ukraine 2008, Russia 2016, Russia 2019, Greece 2020-2021, Moldova 2020-2021, Cyprus 2024-2025) was involved with that year’s entry.
