🇲🇰 Bobi Andonov shows interest to represent North Macedonia at Eurovision 2026
https://thateurovisionsite.com/2025/07/25/bobi-andonov-north-macedonia/Based on tracks like Apartment and Saint, Bobi Andonov’s soulful and cinematic vibe could be a game-changer for North Macedonia’s image at Eurovision 2026. What do you guys think?

if he has a song worth the investment, I don't see why NM wouldn't come back? It seems like they want to but things haven't panned out

He'll need to be in contact with the Macedonian broadcaster already in order to give them a kick up the backside because otherwise they'll delay discussions until the participation deadline is passed like the past two years.

He did claim at least a month ago that he contacted MRT already. I'm not sure if anything changed since then, but I assume his participation might still be on the table, considering that the topic came back again and the broadcaster didn't make any definitive statements about rejecting his offer yet.
From what I understand it's something he wanted to do for a while and just waited for the right moment (or maybe he just needed to gather some funds to help with covering the costs), so he's probably pretty persistent.

If he participates I don’t see how they don’t AT LEAST get a top 10, but he could definitely do much better.

I agree! I think the fact he is based in Los Angeles has worked with Doja Cat he can create something new and fresh for Macedonia 🇲🇰

I think a one-year return isn't a good idea. For Macedonia, is more useful a project that allows it to participate (more) constantly.

But a success would generate the interest needed for them to make the return permanent. We just need them back.

It's not a question of interest, but of finances, as usual. Andonov could participate, given that he's looking for sponsors, but there's no guarantee for next years. Just as there's no guarantee of the outcome.

Similar to bulgaria 2022. They wouldn’t have participated if it wasn’t for heavy sponsoring. And this is the reason for them not returning since then

I get what you’re saying. NMs participation relying on outsides sources means it’s unreliable. There should be some small budget or something set aside to make sure if there is someone who wants to rep with a good song that there’s some money to throw at it. I’d love NM to participate even for a year, though. Would be nice to get the numbers up!
