Meme Never have I ever gotten the Taco Bell poops.
97
u/BomBiddyByeBye 12d ago
I love this. Iāve always thought one of the weirdest things Iāve ever encountered on the internet was people who say Taco Bell and other spicy food mess with their digestive systems more than anything else. Baffling. Iām not trying to be controversial or anything, but Iām serious with this question. Is this like a non-Hispanic white thing? Iāve always heard jokes that they find black pepper spicy and things like that. Do they have finicky digestive systems?
28
u/RandyHoward 12d ago
It didn't happen to me until I was in my 30s and had my gall bladder removed. Since then most fast food gives me the shits, but Taco Bell gets me the worst.
7
u/Graztine 12d ago
I had my gall bladder out a few years ago and my stomach definitely has been more sensitive, but Taco Bell is one that typically doesnāt bother me. But this may vary depending on what I order
22
u/yoursweetlord70 12d ago
Very spicy food can sometimes do it for me, but nothing at Taco Bell is close to that spicy.
40
u/DJSANDROCK 12d ago
Its one of those things where someone made a funny and then it got repeated so many times people just started acting like it was true. in my opinion
5
u/candynipples 11d ago
From my experience itās 3 things that contributed to this meme:
1) what you said, people just liked to hop on the bandwagon that Taco Bell gives them the shits
2) back in the day Taco Bell was one of the more affordable fast food options, which lead to a lot of people binging it. Taco Bell didnāt make you have rough shits, eating 6 items from the menu in one sitting did.
3) when I was in high school and college it was pretty popular to get Taco Bell during a night of drinking. Somebody would get a few party packs and feed 10+ people easily, so naturally people had stomach and toilet issues the next day mainly due to the alcohol but blamed it on the Taco Bell.
1
u/Dr-McLuvin 9d ago
3 is definitely partially true. I never ate Taco Bell sober until I was in my late 30s.
13
u/LickyPusser 12d ago
This and the South Park āChipotle-Awayā episode were always baffling to meā¦like, Taco Bell is shit food, and Chipotleās quality has certainly gone to shit in the last 10 years vs. how it used to beā¦but neither of them have ever given me or anyone I know the shits. WTF is wrong with these people?

u/CombinationClear5672 12d ago
iām a non-hispanic white and i donāt get stomach problems from spicy food. regardless of whether itās popeyes (i donāt eat taco bell), super spicy indian food, super spicy wings, iām just used to it and it doesnāt really give me a hard time digestion wise
10
u/acrain116 12d ago
I'm white as shit and have never had an issue with TBell or any other fast and/or spicy food. So I fully agree with you that it's strange to me when people claim that the food causes problems. It's an interesting question though, I'd be interested to see if there really is a trend along cultural lines.
4
u/LetsGoGators23 11d ago
I think a lot of white people (as a white person) donāt eat hardly any beans. Beans cause gastro pain if you donāt eat them regularly. Many foods with beans when we do it them, are spicy. So we have gastro pain and sometimes a spicy zing to boot along with it and now we think spicy foods give us the poops.
I love beans and spicy foods and actually get more issues when I eat too much pizza/cheese or oily foods. Indian food is eaten several times a week in our family too so we are just bean forward compared to the standard white American family.
1
5
u/Accurate_Cricket_142 12d ago
Nah not a white person thing I grew up around mexicans and they would say it gave them chorro
3
u/RealParticular5057 11d ago
I think its britons that have an aversion to pepper. saw it on a tiktok meme
2
3
u/avelineaurora 12d ago
No. I'm white as a sheet and I've never had so much as a gurgle from the Bell. Big fan of their spiciest sauces too (not that that's a high bar, just saying--it ain't the heat either lol)
1
u/You-Asked-Me 12d ago
There is nothing at Taco bell that is spicy though, unless you put sauce on it. I also don't understand how it is taco bells fault if you cannot tolerate spicy food, and then put a bunch of hot sauce on it yourself.
1
u/evanjahlynn 8d ago
The only time Iāve ever had that experience as a white person was when I had pho for the first time. I went with some pros and remember doing it up real big! It was so good, I ate the whole damn thing when usually Iām a small, frequent snacker.
Man, sorry for the TMI but something about all the spicy liquid in a short time span was ROUGH. I had never experienced violently pissing out of my ass multiple times throughout the night, I thought I was going to die. It was right up there with my 24-hour flu experience. Feeling like youāre going to die by melting out through your butthole is definitely a life changing experience.
But anywaysssss⦠I never got that from Taco Bell though. That being said, people be weak and I need this hat.
-6
u/Jolly-Refuse2232 12d ago
Careful your racism is showing
10
u/BomBiddyByeBye 12d ago
Just genuine curiosity. As I said before, this trend confuses me. Like Iāve gone on Taco Bell binges man where Iād buy like 20 bucks worth of that nonsense and just wolf it all down. And when I say 20 bucks, Iām talking 20 bucks back when that would buy you half the menu lol. Anyway, it hit me just the same as any other shitty fast food lol. I didnāt crap more after eating that than any other type of cuisine. So when all these Taco Bell memes started popping up on the early Internet, I was just like what the fuck. That makes zero sense.
-3
u/Jolly-Refuse2232 12d ago
what does any of this have to do with white people

It's because it's low quality food. If you grew up eating junk food your body may be used to it, but fortunately I didn't it eat junk food to that degree and so Taco Bell never sat right with me.
It's not the spiciness, it's just oily overly processed cheap garbage. I actually had to use hot sauce in excess because my mom overcooked and underseasoned a lot of the food she made. Our ancestors used to eat raw meat, but that would make most modern humans sick. Your body develops and adjusts with whatever environment it's in. Same reason why vegans cannot just "quit" being vegans or they risk getting sick and why alcoholics can't always go cold turkey. But it doesn't help that Taco Bell is also just shitty low quality food.
I'll eat actual Mexican food or even Americanized versions like Chipotle and I'll be fine because it's not garbage. It's like buying fruit from the Dollar store. Technically edible, but should you really eat it?
14
u/BomBiddyByeBye 12d ago
Does other oily over processed garbage like McDonaldās and stuff like that mess with your digestive system as well? If so, how come I donāt really see memes about that? The point is what specifically about bland ass Taco Bell is making you people lose your minds and your guts to the point where you have bring it up every time the restaurant is discussed? Itās like come on man, Taco Bell is the bland ass mayonnaise flavored unseasoned chicken breast version of Mexican food. Itās not that serious lol

Chipotle is going to nosedive into the ground soon. Paying over $10 for undercooked rice and some beans is ludicrous. Please donāt support that nonsense. Support your mom and pop shops who will give you better portions and prepared properly.
2
u/aardappelbrood 12d ago
I don't eat Chipotle, I just used to work there and get the employee meals.
28
u/Jolly_Air_5024 12d ago
Itās been my experience after 50 years in restaurant management that itās seldom the last thing you eat that makes you sick (unless it was ipecac!). Digestive reaction takes timeā¦It can be almost ANYTHING youāve eaten the last 4 hrs. But people always blame the most recent food as the culprit.
11
u/Plane-Tie6392 12d ago
And a lot of the times itās norovirus they got from somewhere else. Iām with you and despise when people just automatically blame the last they ate. I mean it up to a week or more to have symptoms after eating contaminated food.
2
u/You-Asked-Me 12d ago
Especially if it's actually food poisoning, and not just "i don't like spice." It can be hard to track the source. Contamination from bad eggs or shrimp from one of 3 places is all I can guess last time I got food poisoning, which was bad, and I was on the verge of going to the ER, simply because of the dehydration.
16
u/largececelia 12d ago
Glad that we're questioning this bizarre myth. It's not gr3at food and it's not good for you, but it has never given me diarrhea.

I agree with this. Whatās wrong with diarrhea people?
7
u/KazaamFan 12d ago
Yea i never get these jokes. Who is eating taco bell and always getting poop issues š¤£. I never do. Not with any food. The only thing that may, for me, which makes more sense, is booze, and that isnāt even always the case.Ā

I've never gotten diarrhea from Taco bell. Those diarrhea jokes never made sense to me, because I've never experienced it in the years that I've been eating Taco Bell
1
u/diego5377 10d ago
Plus the food has more fiber than other meals, which means if itās actually from Taco Bell their diet is terrible from the introduction of any fiber

u/lik_a_stik 12d ago
Itās beer/alcohol shits. Donāt blame Taco Bell for your drinking problem. I certainly donāt.
3
u/AnastasiusDicorus 12d ago
Lol people talk about getting the trots from long john silver's too, never happened to me.
3
u/newharlemshuffle_ 12d ago
These people and the people who try to make the McDonaldās ice cream machine not working have no original quips and should be barred from comments

Thank goodness I never got sick from Taco Bell. Used to eat it pretty much every other day back in college. I wish they would bring back the āGrilled Stuft Burrito.ā Damn that thing was so freaking good, and definitely wasnāt skimped on.
3
u/Patient_Character730 12d ago
My husband and I ate taco bell for lunch today, and we've both been fine. No stomach issues at all, and this is always the case when we eat at Taco Bell. š
4
2
u/i-love-your-hat 12d ago
I only got sick there once, but that's not bad considering I used to eat there a lot for their potato and bean burritos. Statistically I was due. I stopped going there because of the sodium.

I worked with a guy who would say things like "Taco Bell tears up my stomach."
The thing is, it did not mater what he ate, EVERY DAY at work he would spray liquid shit all over the bathroom AT LEAST TWICE a day, and then just pretend that it was normal.
I would have to do a company wide page asking whoever used the restroom, to please clean it.
He thought that this was a completely normal thing too. I kept telling him to bring it up to his doctor. Meh.
2
u/SKRIMP-N-GRITZ 12d ago
This is hilarious to me, but the thought of random people wanting to talk to me about my hat - love it or hate it - makes this a total nope for me.
2
u/APolyAltAccount 12d ago
I honestly think itās like 50% just a meme, 30% Mandela effect, and 20% people that really truly have that terrible of a diet.
2
u/Mammoth-Garden-804 12d ago
I've never been a victim of the joke. Taco Bell doesn't make me shit all over the place.

2
u/Lavaburstx 11d ago
I have IBS and Taco Bell is on my list of things that very rarely upset my stomach
2
u/DOCTOR--O 11d ago
If a small portion of beans and some lettuce has you shitting your brains out you should probably eat more fiber
3
u/taubs1 12d ago
It's most likely the alcohol they drink before making a taco bell run.
3
u/Azcrul 12d ago
I donāt know. Alcohol and late night Taco Bell used to be its own food group back in the day and it was always a pleasant combo before bed. I swear the people who consistently post on Facebook and what not saying things like āItās like the bathroom at Taco Bell š¤£š¤£š¤£!ā are just herp derp rednecks
5
u/Dawg605 12d ago
Yup, I often wonder this too. I concluded that they're probably unhealthy people in general, eat A TON of food from Taco Bell in one sitting, drench the food in spicy sauces, or any combination of the reasons I listed. I always only get like 1-2 spicy potato soft tacos and a cheesy gordita crunch at most, so I'm not eating 5 bean and cheese burritos or something lol. Seems like a lot of the people I see getting Taco Bell get A TON of food just for themselves.
4
u/SantaCruzSucksNow_ 12d ago
Itās funny how idiots on Reddit wear their weak, feeble digestive systems like a badge of honor. Itās bizarre.
āYeah Iād be on the toilet for a week.ā
Is that some sort of brag?

Factually correct. These people are spreading a misinformation campaign that doesn't ever happen to normal people. Its not Chipotle. The youtubers just want to be "relatable" and pretend they are getting sick from taco bell which has been proven to have some of the highest quality control standards lol.

The only food that consistently destroys me is spicy popeyes. And im from buffalo and love hot wings etc.
1
u/skeightytoo 12d ago
I mean, anything you eat ends up out the other way. Taco Bell was never any different from any other meal I had. Now if you bring alfredo sauce into the mix, that's a whole other miserable story as to why I don't eat that anymore, regardless of how delicious it is.
1
u/DraftCommercial8848 12d ago
Only had it once from not eating much that day and then eating it with extra sauce on it + a bunch of wine on the side lol
Literally bowel cleanser

I do sometimes if I order alot but for me it's more likely it's surprisingly McDonalds that gives me more poops on average, even if I order a little. Taco Bell to be specific I'd have to order a couple of burritos and then a nacho box or BellGrande then my stomach's cooked. To be fair I do need to eat more fiber more often bc I always forget to.
1
u/DarkWolFoxStar16 12d ago
I think maybe once but that's because I had like bunch of food one thing being the beef and beef burrito
1
u/Th4ab 12d ago
Might just be people overeating in general when they go to taco bell. It's actually a low residue and usually low fodmap menu too if you avoid tomatoes and beans. It should be the most agreeable kind of food to the digestive system, provided you don't have celiacs. But if you did you would say a slice of pizza or bread tears you up too.
1
u/OuiGotTheFunk 12d ago
So any massive change in diet can cause some people to get the shits. I remember when I went to the Army and the food was perfectly safe but I got the shits. After a week I was fine.
1
u/Brnwsh_916 12d ago
I get the shits from wingstop ranch, or pizza cheese, but never taco bell. its the Mexican in me
1
u/spacepeenuts 11d ago
I actually get quite constipated when I eat there, sometimes for 2-3 days, I cant even eat there too much. I always lol when I read the taco bell poop jokes.
1
u/Mobile-Plankton7088 11d ago
Happened to me recently. Taco Bell messed up and gave me an even fatter guys order. I ate everything and regretted it shortly after
1
u/FrenchDipsBeDrippin 11d ago
Just crushed a Doritos Locos Taco, a crunchy taco, a Crunchwrap, two chalupas, and a cheesy gordita crunch. I do it for my family.

u/MrMiniNuke 11d ago
Iāve eaten Taco Bell all my life and never had any bowel issues until I became lactose intolerant a month ago. It sucks so much. lol
1
u/EvenStevens4201 11d ago
Itās when youāve been drinking with the boys all night and one of you return from Taco Bell at 1:00 am with 2 12 pack boxes of hard and soft shell tacos. Thatās when it hits
1
u/Jolly_Air_5024 11d ago
I forgot to add in my original post that one has a much greater chance getting sick from home cooking than eating out. All restaurants are at least seen by the Board Of Health and have corporate standards that must be rigorously followed to avoid being disenfranchised. At home, odds are there are no temperatures checks, different cutting boards to avoid cross contamination, vinyl gloves, hand washing logs, etc. Iāve heard the sponge or scrubby pad used for dish washing and counter cleaning at home is a huge source for harmful bacteriaā¦.

u/rangusmcdangus69 11d ago
The jokes made sense to me because Taco Bell has given me the shits before. Not every time, but it has. Not sure why. Might I add I have IBS lol

1
u/Airas_Da_angel 10d ago
I used to think this was weird how people get Taco Bell poops. But it must be from the beans if they get that. Other than that, maybe they are slightly lactose intolerant and donāt know. Maybe itās the hot sauce. Who knows really
1
u/ghfdghjkhg 10d ago
I encounter all kinds of weird food related reactions online. I have never gotten diarrhea from taco bell. And a surprising amount of people say dairy causes them problems. Never happens to me. Maybe y'all need to get checked for lactose intolerance. Also I always thought that the people who get taco bell shits just order really spicy food maybe and that's what causes it but that's just how I explained that phenomenon to myself. Idk

I donāt think Iāve had this issue either, but Taco Bell is gross and overpriced. You can get a much better takeaway meal from a local Mexican place for the same price⦠thereās no reason to eat this haphazardly assembled soggy pile of slop unless itās the only thing open/nearby.

u/CHILLAS317 12d ago
The only reason this would ever happen to anyone is if they have a shitty diet in the first place. Taco Bell has more fiber than most fast food
