FEMA BRIC eliminated - notice coming tomorrow

Apparently it was an AF1 decision, but it’s not a RIF and nothing is known about timelines.

I disagree vehemently with the removal of BRIC, but would note here for accuracy's sake that it looks like the actual text of the Disaster Recovery Reform Act that authorized BRIC says that the president *may* (not *will* or *shall*) set aside an amount equal to 6% of national disaster costs for the program that became BRIC.

I believe it says "up tp 6%"

Ah yeah it absolutely does, apologies for mischaracterizing. Either way, it was never something they were required to do, just something they were authorized to do.

No worries, I understood. As someone who has worked this program from inception and the previous Pre Disaster Mitigation I've always mentioned in briefings #1.) Up to and not to exceed 6% of the previous years DRF and #2.) Nothing is promised, not the program, the NOFO, or any part of it, however its usually harder to stop things in motion so finish your RFI's
