Lookout Questions Anyone know if Jasper Alberta has firewatch lookout positions?

I’m 19 and for some reason I want nothing more than to Firewatch in a tower in the mountains. I have seen that Alberta has some jobs apparently but I would need to do it in the mountains if I were gonna be there for that long. I’ve also heard this job has sorta disappeared in BC so I don’t have a lot of faith that it’s possible to Firewatch in the mountains anymore as a job.

"Do you know how to read a map?", "Do you know how to use a compass?", "Are you comfortable with being alone for long periods of time?". These are some of the questions that I was asked when I went in for my interview way back when. Another thing to consider, are you ok with changing weather conditions. High winds, Rain going sideways, lightning, hot one day cold the next. Can you get used to not having electricity, as most lookouts are not on the grid. Etc. Etc. Good Luck in your endeavours.
