Anne Burrell will apparently have an in memoriam appearance on 'Next Gen Chef' Netflix's latest cooking competition show.

I'm not sure what "in memoriam appearance" means but, I feel like the article meant "posthumous" which would make more sense. I'm pretty sure you can see her in the trailer. I'm happy that what may actually be the last time we see her in anything on television will be something where her culinary prowess is on full display and being honored in the way it should be, instead of the shit show that was this last season of WCIA. She deserves to be remembered as one of the best in her field, because she really, truly was.

Agreed - I'm pretty sure she's second from the right on the long table at 0:56.
And she absolutely does deserve to be remembered as an exceptionally talented chef, no matter how hard FN tried to ignore how good she was. I like the quote from Anthony Bourdain on the back of her first cookbook: "Anne Burrell is the real deal. TV or no TV, famous or not, you put her in front of a stove and she will cook your ass under the table." And Alton Brown: "Anne was the real thing: talented, compassionate, fun, funny, engaging, and a better chef than many in whose shadows she toiled." And ICAG: "I watched her expertly roll cannoli shells on "Iron Chef America" and soon learned that if she ever made a raviolo or seafood, any fellow competition could save time and take a seat on the bench because she'd wipe the floor with everyone." She was hugely and deservedly respected by other chefs.

I will probably watch this just for the sake of seeing Anne be honored, but cynically, isn't that why they're doing it? To drag fans to a new show. I would rather have them produce a 30-min. biopic that's just for her.

Agree to the biopic, but she was filming things up to her death so they kind of have to acknowledge her passing when the shows air. It’d be worse if they pretended she was still alive

Could not agree with you more. That, and I think FN is aware that fans have been majorly disappointed and even disgusted by their lack of timely action to honor a Food Network icon/pioneer.

Considering how they often film these shows months and months in advance, and the long list of chefs (many FN names on the list) that are set to appear, I'm wondering if her section wasn't actually filmed while she was alive? That would make sense.

She is a guest judge and also was an alumni at CIA. She in the past has done several events there and I am also an alumni and they used her photo and her name a lot in the school. So when I saw she was a guest judge for a show like this it made a lot of sense to me.
