Some of the missions are so fucking unfair and the CRAZY difficulty spikes don't allow for any mistakes

"Heh, I got a hang of this now! I'm ready to save everyone!"

*Gets cut into one hundred fleshy pieces by a 50 ton statue/dinosaur/spirit that you have never seen before, also the statue moves at the speed of light.*

*You farted in the prep room, and didn't make any friends. So nobody will revive you, ever. Get fucked.*

That arc will always remain in my head for how brutally difficult it was shown to be. I don't have the best memory of how it ended but didn't we get left on a cliffhanger for it? I don't recall it ever being stated how that particular game was ended. I like to imagine the Italy aliens wiped the floor with everyone and went back to chilling without being bothered again.

The invaders were a not thought out plot with lots of inconsistencies.

Remember the rescue team fought some aliens in some kind of TV show(those at least had the power of the Oni Boss), the invaders spawned aliens to destroy the yakuza hideout(people clearing Gantz at least 7 times)

The invaders were defeated offscreen with a bogus match between Kei and their hero.

My hope for Gantz E is that the Vampireplot and the Italyplot don't get dropped.

Oku read the negative feedback(they didn't want another 3 year mission) on twitter and other messageboards and axed the arc.

It's suggested Kei killed the boss then Gantz glitched. It was never resolved

Seriously. You only get points by contributing and you only gain your freedom by saving up a LOT of points. Even if you pick off a few smallfries, you'll definitely die before you get out.

I only hope my death is fast.

Very funny/fucked when you think about it.

You kind of see it in the side story with the female MC, as that mission was notably way harder than the original "first" for kurono.

It sure is convenient the main character got the tutorial level followed by a (generally) linear difficulty increase. By the time they got to the dino mission, the new chars either had to get hard carried for a while or be comedically inhuman

I always answer these question considering that i'm "immune" to the initial shock of the situation. Of course in real life i would shit my pants and cry with the onion Guy, but If I could have a clear mind in the First mission MAYBE i could survive until the temple mission

Depends how hard it gets. As long as I can go invisible and have the katana and x rifle I should be good. Keep a y gun with me if things get crazy. Eventually get the H gun and the big suit

The beauty and stupidity of the fights lies in how insanely unformulaic they were, how enemies were completely unpredictable, and for the most part, luck played a massive part in getting the insanely talented players to win

God, probably not. I've got pretty hefty martial arts training, I know guns, I know shit hits the fan moments. But the games just aren't meant to be survived. 1 out of 50, or more like 1 of 100 players are going to survive any length of time via competency and luck. For most its intentionally a meat grinder.

Only Nishi survived long in his team until the MCs showed up. I think even if you went in knowing the story it wouldn't be anything other than skin of your teeth stuff.

Gantz is a bit like a FromSoftware/Soulslike game. I've never been able to complete one without dying (not until I've mastered it).

But let's say I do somehow survive incident after incident; I think I'd eventually be so despondent and shell shocked, that I'd eventually just let myself die.

As a solo hunter no? No the missions are unfair and difficult, plus no one in their right mind would revive you unless they got to bond with you on a personal level, or at least know you personally.

But as a team, there's a slight chance of survival IF you work as a team, like a football or basketball team aiming for a win where in everyone survives the mission get some points, rinse and repeat.

Im going to be so so so generous with myself and say that if I went into Gantz with the knowledge of having actually read Gantz I would survive Onion and would 50/50 maybe survive Tanaka.

Those two are the only missions in the series where the challenge is more the learning curve than the alien.

I'm absolutely dead by Buddha when the difficulty spike starts ramping If I don't know what Gantz is and cold wake up in the room I might not make it out of Onion.

I see, but even character like Oka (the veteran Osaka guy) still get killed too, even Kurono wouldn’t survive the Buddha mission if Kato didn’t managed to kill the boss. It’s all mostly come down to luck.

Thats depends on the mision, some mision are very dificult and unfair. I Will Lost again the alien that kill kato but i feel like i can kill the dinosaurs, the tiny alien, the big crow.

Also that depends on the starting point, if mi first mision is Osaka i am complete fuck. But if mi first mision let me get expirence. I can survive.

Let's face it, many characters die because they are idiots.

Survival in Gantz isn’t just about strength, it’s about adaptability and willpower, most people don’t have both. I guess it depends… do I get Katou level heart or Nishi level ruthlessness? Either way, even if you clear one mission, the next one will break you. In the end, no one truly survives Gantz...

People die irl and teleport to small room where there is black sphere Gantz that commands to those people who’ve died go on mission and kill targets (aliens). People get black suit that protects them from damage (it has condition). After some dude kills aliens gets points for them. For 100 points you can get stronger weapon, revive someone who had died during missions or you can free yourself from Gantz.

Really depends what we get as the first mission.. But the best strategy would def be using the invisibility+sniper combo. I'm Italian so if my first mission is THAT Italian mission I'm cooked 😭🙏

Lowkey with the knowledge I have, I’d say I would make it pretty far. (Pretty far = Buddha Mission😄)

Now, if I came later (Dinosaur Mission) I’m pretty sure I would die in the Osaka Mission (I’m not dying in the Oni-Alien Mission. Simply because I want to see Kei lock the fuck in first hand). However If I stay out of the way and pick off weaker Aliens while the others beat the final boss then I might be fine.

(I would also tell everyone to start jumping a lot more instead of standing around.)
