He's dead

Who would have uploaded the video then?

u/beardybrownie 1d ago
There was a similar case in the UK where a motorcyclist had an accident and died, his mother uploaded the video from his helmet cam online to deter other motorcyclists from driving as her son drove.
There’s been a few videos like this released by family members of the deceased for public awareness and public good.

Probably drunk or intoxicated, would make a good advert for it either way. I very much doubt the rider survived this! Probably, came off, collided with something like a curb and wall as they were flying or sliding across the ground. Maybe even decapitated themselves on something, these things happen. Could of even killed a pedestrian in the process.

Bro is 100% seriously injured but can see him surviving that. Seen a motorcycle video with a semi head on but again severely life alternative changes will occur if he didn't die in video afterwards

This guy stubbed his whole everything

u/SquirrelKaiser 1d ago
He is ether dead or in constant pain for the rest of his life. and there is no in between.
2
u/AndrewFrozzen 1d ago
Would rather be dead at that point honestly
(but preferably, would rather be smart enough to not do this, to end up like that where I have to live in either constant pain or death, but being smart is a privilege apparently.)

u/Fun_Olive_6968 23h ago
I had a major major car crash in 2017 being an idiot, these days i'm not afraid of dying, i'm afraid of surviving again, fuck this.
1
u/PrestigiousCrab6345 3h ago
I stubbed my little toe on my right foot. The bruise had me limping for a week.
So, by the law of degrees, this guy should be limping until 2096.
2
u/memes_are_my_dreams 1d ago
Yeah best case scenario he could just skid along the pavement with bruises and asphalt burns. But that would be incredibly lucky it’s definitely more likely to be something more serious or fatal.
1
u/LadderTrash 10h ago
Humans can range from “dying from slipping and hitting your head against the ground” to “surviving multiple gunshots to vital organs and making an almost full recovery.” Sometimes it is really a roll of the dice

There's a high chance he didn't. If the truck wasn't there, he wouldn't have crashed. So it's not his fault for speeding, it's the truck fault for being there.

Didn't even grab the brake! 💀
1
u/6gv5 1d ago
At that speed motorcycle brakes do nothing. The best you can do once the car is on the middle of the road is to hope it doesn't stop and lets you pass it on the right, then you start braking after that, but instinct telling you to anticipate it to the left (to an almost certain hit) is hard to fight against.

If you need speed limits to realize it's not a good idea to go at that speed through intersections you're not paying enough attention.
Speed limits are there for the state to bully and patronize us, nothing more.

u/Captain1613 18h ago
That truck is also dumb as hell.
1
u/Major_Kangaroo5145 17h ago
Not really. Have you ever driven a vehicle?
You cant exactly measure speeds of the vehicles and calculate their trajectories. You basically look at the distance and roughly calculate how far the vehicles are . If they are far enough you turn.
When somebody is moving 2X the speed limit there is not way of processing that, especially at night all you see is a headlight.
In this case truck saw the car and the other bike that was in front of cam bike and thought safe enough and pulled forward.
1
u/EdBrazilk 17h ago
He may have survived it’s all about what you strike, how you land. The high velocity didn’t help him tho

Everyone makes mistakes in life and this poor guy made a very deadly one. I do hope he is ok.
20
u/Ollyfer 2d ago
I too hope that, but either way, they had it coming. You don't speed through a city like that, or any inhabited urban zone at that. Even on highways and the likes the danger is not worth risking for any earlier arrival. At least when driving a little slower, you are surer to arrive in the first place.
3
u/Wojak__Horseman 2d ago
Well most people(most people) do not learn from their mistakes unless and until theyre disabled.
Youd very often see these very people trying the same fanatics right after their recoveries; endangering other peoples lives(the way this guy endangers the car persons life) again.
P.S. Im not sure if the car person turned his car illegally.
2
u/groupfox 1d ago
Mistake is pressing gas instead of break, Very stupid, very dangerous, but mistake. Going twice over the limit in a city on a busy road is a decision.
3
u/Pnollten 1d ago
I disagree. He puts other people's lives in danger, he deserves to not be ok.
-4
u/DrChaka69 1d ago
Like you’ve never done some stupid shit in your life man. Just because someone fucks up doesn’t mean they deserve to die, or be irreparably damaged for the rest of their life.
2
u/Psychlonuclear 1d ago
This is not a mistake, he didn't just hit a wrong button or something like that. It was a very deliberate choice.
2
u/Better_Pin_3077 2d ago
Calling that a mistake is a mistake. If thats just a mistake, we wouldn't need cops and law, people should just say sorry to each other.

Actually, the reason we have speed limits is simply to make money off of people. It has already been proven that if you removed the speed limit signs, people drive more comfortably and caused less accidents, overall.
Some people are just stupid and do stupid things...like the driver of the bike. Sign or no sign, he was still going to do it.
9
u/lovedeathandramen 1d ago
So how do you suggest you stop people from doing stupid stuff like this?
-4
u/twec21 1d ago
Do you think there wasn't a speed limit in the video? Or do you think he was the last human being on wheels to learn what speed limits were (then again by the video he probably won't)
People speed like this because the speed limit isnt even part of their equation. It's one thing to know "ok the limit is 65, but it's a highway and the traffics light so we can push it to 75". That's NOT what that video was, or God only knows how more like him in daily life (GOD I hate the 101)
Edit: and the answer is speed bumps in towns, or reckless endangerment charges and seizure of the vehicles every time.
-5
u/St0n3yM33rkat 1d ago
We don't? People are always going to do things that others think are stupid. Trying to stop them only makes them want to do it more. Natural selection has to be allowed to run its course.
5
u/lovedeathandramen 1d ago
So in court, the guy can say, "Sorry about your kid mam, but I was going the legal limit in town, which is no limit and your kid happen to be in the way. Natural selection you know"
There should be a way to decide who is at fault and keep innocent people from doing stupid stuff. I understand people are stupid, and they are going to drive like they want. I live in South Africa, you cant tell me anything, and we have something called minibus taxis, they drive like a*s, they go where they want. If we dont have a way of saying look, you are causing trouble, everyone will go haywire. I like u/twec21 's suggestion about speed humps. Then you can't do anything without causing trouble to your own car first.
-5
u/St0n3yM33rkat 1d ago
I could not possibly imagine what it's like to live in South Africa. Maybe it wouldn't work there; that idk. I will have to go with your pov, for your country, as I do not nor have I ever lived there.
And no. That person still hit a child, in your scenario. Speed limit or none, they hit a child. That's jail. It doesn't matter how fast they were going.
2
u/lovedeathandramen 1d ago
I hear what you are saying, but I don't agree. Let's say that the road has a huge uphill and a sudden downhill, and there is no speed regulation and the kid crossed the road behind the big uphill, the first time I see him is when hes 5m infront of me, I was going 200km/h, there is no way I will stop in time. Who's at fault? The kid crossed the road at a dangerous place, and I was "speeding" whatever that means with no law.
We are both in the wrong, unfortunately it turned out worse for the kid than me, it doesn't mean I am in the wrong, I'm not talking morally here, im talking law alone. We need stuff in place put by people who calculated and through about stuff like this, cause not everyone has common sense.

Could you elaborate on speed limits not making people drive slower or cause more accidents? The only study I’m finding with some quick googling is this DOT paper from the 90’s https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/publications/research/safety/97084/97084.pdf.
While it does address driver behavior not changing much when they adjusted signage, it doesn’t support your statement at all. The study shows that drivers don’t change behavior drastically when faced with changes to traffic laws, and instead choose to follow what they perceive as safe or what they’re accustomed to. There’s no way to extrapolate that the human race as a whole would drive just as safely without these traffic laws existing.
I’d be very interested in seeing more sources because I am not super knowledgeable on the subject. But I have lived in countries where there are essentially no traffic laws because they aren’t enforced, and I can assure you the vast majority of people did not drive very safely.
I can agree that in many countries the sets of laws that surround vehicles are shit and largely oppress the average person, as well as the systems/people that enforce them being very corrupt and favoring those with the wealth to sidestep repercussion.

I sincerely doubt the government makes money off of speeding tickets. Do you have any idea how many speeding a tickets a single officer would have to give out to make up for their salary?
Quick google search says state/local governments spend over 100 billion a year and make about 10 billion. So your theory is pretty stupid

u/NYC2BUR 2d ago
That's not why we have posted speed limits. Posted the speed limits are there to keep the regular driving public from bumping into each other other.
It's the same thing with padlocks. If a criminal wants to break in to your shit that has a padlock on it, then they're gonna break into your shit that has a padlock on it.
Criminals gonna crime.

The irony of your second sentence in the context of this video, is just baffling.

u/InnuendoBot5001 1d ago
It amazes me how some people see "deterrents don't work 100% of the time" and conclude "we should have no deterrents"
1
u/OriginalChicachu 1d ago
But the padlocks are indeed an attempt to deter criminal activity, padlocks make it harder, which I understand can be subjective, but yes the intent is to deter criminals. And so are speed limits.
