Discussion People often overlook how deeply Taek Jegal affected Mori—he was the first to truly shake him, and also the first life Mori was forced to take. The weight of that encounter lingered in Mori’s mind for a very long time

Taek was vital for Mori's character but he unfortunately gets overshadowed by other villains

that's a nice detail i also noticed mori talks a lot about taek jegal and he is always seen as a "ghost" when mori clashes with a foe

From just looking at panels you can see how often Jegal pops up in Mori’s mind, but I don’t think the story actually did a good job exploring that psychology.

Could you give any examples ? I don’t recall my goat villian being referenced much later on except for occasional ghost imagery

Yeah. I don’t recall him popping up any more than anyone else Mori fought.

Yeah this is foreign to me. The most relevant deaths that are consistently brought up that mattered to Mori than anyone was Hui and Sanzhang. Jin Taejin obviously but he doesnt reference him as explicitly but rather is just built into Dan
