selfpromo (games) Game is done. Who wants to beta?

My game is "complete" and now I think I need more testers to nail down requirements. It's pretty low-key, not GPU intensive by any stretch. How do I get beta testers? Anyone?

EDIT: A blurb would have been good...

Dungeon (W)Hoarders is a silly, stupid lazy clicker for PC only (currently). I'm working on the MacOS and Linux builds. It is a "turn-based" hex crawler dungeon delve "tabletop" game. With an unlimited amount of floors that are ever changing, there's no telling how far down you can go.

How about an equally stupid blurb:

"As Hero!, your mission is to delve into the ever-shifting dungeons. Click your way through monster-filled rooms, gather epic loot, and prove you are the ultimate Dungeon (W)Hoarder."

And because I was asked the right security question...here's a project sample image. It's real.

Could at least tell a bit about the game before asking for play testing

You might want to reupdate it, I've refreshed the page and the only information I got is that it's not GPU intensive.

Reddit can be fickle...

Create a steam page, look into offering player testing / early access via beta channel.

A little sad if this is the "only" way given it costs to put up a steam page. Surely there is a group of like-minded individuals who help each other out, encourage them to be successful. But thanks for the info. It's headed to steam eventually.

Could you host it on itch io?

I could if I don't get enough info here.

Put it on itch. Maybe try and get it to run on web (so people do not need to trust a random download on their system)

https://www.reddit.com/r/playmygame/

Then post it there, well and maybe also here again.

Thanks. I may try that. I'm getting good responses here, plus the people I already know so we'll see, but it's a good idea.

I'm in a similar situation as OP.

I have a Steam page... game is done and ready to go with a few weeks left before release.

Is there a way to have a public beta without giving the game away? The players have to actually own the game before they can get into a beta branch, right?

I don't mind giving the game away to testers, but just curious...

There’s still 0 screenshots of your game. Yeah I see a random snippet of your code and the project being opened but… where’s the game dude? People aren’t gonna be that interested in trying something if you’re not willing to show it.

As long as it’s through steam I’m in

I'll playtest for you on windows. When the time is ripe I can do macOS and debian too if you want.
