Official rules: fan gets up and the ball comes to rest. Player gets a free drop from that location, no penalty.

What should the rule be? PLAY THE BALL AS IT LIES

Sometime before I was born, Tom Kite bounced a fairway shot into my mother’s lap. He gave her the ball after par-ing out the hole.
