I can't revert to my 2TB non-AI storage after trying a free month of AI pro

I saw an offer for a free month of Google AI Pro. Ordered it and immediately cancelled, so I wouldn't have to pay when it renews. Then I got a message that my Google One membership would expire at the end of the month and I would lose my storage. The storage that I have had for years.

There was literally no other way of cancelling the free month. Why didn't it just revert to my old membership?

Anyway, now I want to book the same storage I had (2 TB premium for €99,99 annually). When I press this option, I get directed to a different page where it is not even visible as an option. Only 2TB AI premium, 5TB premium etc.

In Google One it lets you downgrade from the expiry date

You don't lose your storage, if by that you mean losing the files/pictures your have there right now, you'll simply not me able to add more. Worst case scenario you wait until the free trial ends and then re-subscribe to the normal 2TB without AI option.
