Summary: (this is not mine)

- Dantes discovers Caligostro hiding within Ritsuka's subconscious. He divides his power to aid Dantes in the prison tower event (under the Trash Heap) to prepare the fake Tokyo, intending to deceive Caligostro and then weaken him.

- Dantes deceives Ritsuka and Chaldea into believing that this world is similar to the Prison Tower event, where they must overcome 7 trials to escape. Dantes as the Underworld (acting as a father figure) kills the mother (Da Vinci), little sister (Da Vinci chan), and the family friend (Mash), traumatizing Ritsuka, causing him to understand feelings of hatred. Ritsuka is almost influenced by the emotions of the Avengers but gradually regains composure thanks to Senpai Amadeus's enlightenment.

- Because he has given all his magical power to the Trash Heap Dantes, Dantes in Chaldea is very weak, just a shadow following Ritsuka, unable to communicate. Just before Ritsuka reaches the final trial, the Underworld Dantes meets each Avenger. Suddenly, they all withdraw, allowing Ritsuka to descend into the pit alone. Jalter promises to take Ritsuka out to play and dance one last time.

- Old Caligiostro here is like fishing in troubled waters, taking advantage of Dantes playing the villain, pretending to be an ally, then planning to yeet Ritsuka in the Underworld. Marie should have faded away, but Dantes in Chaldea uses a bit of his remaining magical power to keep her back, yeeting Caligostro instead.

- The Trash Heap Dantes appears as the mastermind, setting traps for Ritsuka to reject the path of revenge, saying he will follow the path of the living. The Avenger team then uses that phrase to sever the connection and gradually disappear from Chaldea (LINK LOST).

- Ritsuka wakes up, Nightingale says Dantes and the other Avengers are disappearing, telling Ritsuka to say goodbye. Douman, Amakusa, and Abby help Ritsuka get back into the Trash Heap to bid farewell to the Avenger Team.

Fujimaru does accept and understand Avengers now, but the problem is with their true function: to weed out injustices in the world so they can't be ignored. And right now, the only source of injustice on the Bleached Earth is Antarctica -- so the Avengers that took part in OC2 are being very forcibly drawn there and they're not allowed to say no. The catch is that Fujimaru can't yet follow them unless they basically become an Avenger themselves, giving into their hate... and they just don't have it in them to hate like that.

As for the contracts, they aren't broken (or else Fujimaru wouldn't retain their Shadow Servants). We're just not able to reach the real Servants from beyond the Human Order barrier. Once we complete the Ordeal Call, we should hopefully find them all waiting for us.

Douman makes sense because his entire aesthetic fits that of an Avenger. He is essentially like a traditional Japanese Vengeful Spirit. The living grudge of the living Douman personified and lingering on after death.

we straight up cant get to antartica with them, so all the avengers leave chaldea and end up as 'lost links' shadows are left behind for fighting but they're all gone story wise, the final scene of the chapter is jalters farewell and she gets a special cg, shes the heroine of this chapter like kama was last time basically

waiting years for lobo content only for him to show up at the end and leave kind of has me feeling bitter a bit, theres the implication they'll return, of course but mann

Angra has been sus for ages. You can't do his Rank Up quest until you max Bond him but the Protag has no memory of him. He pops up in a couple Interludes and events for seemingly no reason. And he shows up at the end of Kotomine's Valentines for some foreshadow talk while more or less admitting he knows spoiler stuff. Plus he remains the only playable Servant to have the black card border, even Draco sticks with gold. Angra is not a normal Servant even by the standards of Chaldea.

I think Angra Mainyuu technically is a different kind of Avenger, like he's technically the original Avenger outside of Extra Classes. He might be the only accepted Avenger by the Counter Guardian to ever exist.

One misinformation I have seen from a few that needs to be corrected:

Chaldea does not "fail" the Ordeal Call. Our Human Foundation Level still rises after we complete it. Remember, our mission is to understand what is the place and role these three Extra Classes play in the Human Order. And the truth is just that the place for the Avengers is not at Chaldea at all. Albeit, as the chapter suggests, their place may only not be at Chaldea only at the moment.

Now that i'm looking at whole those who were link lost, and all those who are non-link lost, the immediate thing that comes to mind is....poor Medusa.

Her avenger self is gone for a while so the brunt of her sister's bullying is now split into two instead of three.

Basically both her rider self and her saber self have to pick up the slack from her avenger self. It's almost as if her avenger self said "Fk this I'm going for an extended vacation" and just threw all the work at her colleagues....

Okay, so I've been seeing some mild misunderstandings about the ending of the chapter, so I'll just outline everything here as far as I was able to understand based on what I read. Major spoilers for story, of course.

Avengers cannot be safely used in defense of the human order. Not for us, anyway. This is because Avengers are servants who will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to achieve their goal, the only way for us to make use of them in defense of the human order is if we're willing to, for example, destroy the world to defeat the Alien God. Which is of course not what we want - we want to save the world. Put another way, Avengers would murder a child to kill the kidnapper taking that child hostage. Maybe a bit grim as an example, but I feel like it fits the kind of mentality needed to make use of Avengers to defend the human order. They're an inherently self-destructive class that will do anything and sacrifice everything if it means getting the revenge (or otherwise) that they wish for.

Because of this, for as long as we are using Avengers, we cannot enter Antarctica, because we just don't have the type of determination needed in order to make use of them. So Dantes and the other Avengers all decide to leave and return to the throne (be unsummoned). They’re not going “ahead to Antarctica”. They just leave. Dantes says that, if we ever decide to sacrifice everything, up to and including the world ("walk the path of the Avenger") to defeat the Alien God, then we can call upon the Avengers again in Antarctica. But he hopes we will never walk that path, because we're the kind of person who wants a Good Ending instead of a Bad Ending, and that's not something that should change. MC is of course extremely upset by this, and as a form of compromise Dantes says they'll leave behind shadows that will allow us to use their power even without them being actually there. It's cold comfort, and MC is still terribly saddened by having to part with their friends like this, but they eventually agree upon being reminded what they're aiming for in the end (as well as some encouragement from Jalter, in her own way).

Regarding Jalter: This situation is especially bad for her, because she's a servant that doesn't exist in the throne - she's exclusive to Chaldea due to her unique circumstances. She is, in other words, a "Dream". Since she can't accompany us to Antarctica, and we can't get into Antarctica as long as she's around, she has to leave. It is unknown if her being unsummoned like this will still allow her to be summoned later on down the line, so as far as everyone is aware, this is a final goodbye to her. Jeanne sees her off before she disappears, saying that she's happy to have met "the other her who became like a sister to her".

I'll stress this again: Avengers CAN be used for the sake of the human order. That has been proven in this chapter, and it's why our Humanity Foundation rank goes up at the end. It's just that the way that they need to be used for it is not something we ourselves can accept or take advantage of. The place of Avengers to defend the human order is not alongside Chaldea, not as it is now, when it is aiming to save the world and also keep it intact.

Justification for them from what I see speculated (Keyword being speculated) from discussions and such:

• Angra: Invisible presence, dude is so unseen Chaldea itself has no records of when he was summoned and often forget he is even there;
• Ushi-Gozen: Her Lone Warrior Skill allows her to act as a different Class from Avenger;
• Space Ishtar, Maou and Ranmaru: Both Servantverse and Gudaguda are separate universe from the main Fate branch timelines;
• Erice, Kama and Kuro: All of them are Summer Servants. Just normal non-Avenger Servants putting on Summer outfits;
• Marie Alter: Not a headcanon but her own profile says her summoning is very fickle and unstable and she could just poof and be de-summoned at any moment. Which is eh, kind of a handwave but it comes with releasing a new Avenger after the chapter.

Alright so I'm at the beginning of the 5th/6th Theodoric Alter/Gévaudan Trial.

When we see the adversary we are shown a glimpse that in 1838 (also the same year Dantes met Cagliostro according to the intro) Dantes traveled to southern France during his first year as the Count of Monte Cristo to slay the Beast of Gévaudan that had re-emerged in the modern day. Add that to his feats in addition to beating Roa lol? From I remember from the Drama CD wasn't beating Roa towards the end of his revenge quest (this in particular to avenge Abbé Faria)?

Also I really love this part that all the Trials chant: (Marie's version) “I am a flame. I am a blade. A destruction of dignity and love, a bloody decapitation of flowers. Let horrible pain fill the world that tortures all I hold precious. Bereft of love and mercy, this petal like a blade shall remove your head. Listen, you who still have a heart. This still-fresh blood shall be your death.”

Combined with the repetition of certain scenes and the somberness and raw emotioness (?) of the scenes and characters, it feels quite Shikkoku no Sharnoth-like (or I guess What a Beautiful-like) which originally really endeared me to Sakurai's style.

From what I believe so far.

It’s kind of more messed up. Normally they would be lifeless dolls force to act based on your memory and emotions because everything in the inner world is a phantom. Dante’s used real souls left behind on the blank earth to give them all personalities and free will to make them realistic.

And we have have been fighting for so long that we don’t remember the faces of the people we knew in our past. So our mind made them people we know in Chaldea.

I'm completely mindblown. What I expect from a relatively normal story in FGO turns out to be the most mindblowing out of them all. The arc that changes status quo for Guda both mentally and the connection they have.

Emotionally more gut punching than LB6 considering how personal it is for Guda, and also the players.

Alright, all cleared. I wanted to save this for tomorrow until I've cooled down a bit before writing my impressions on the chaptet... but screw it, I'll do it now while I'm still high on emotions. This is likely going to be long, feel free to skip.

That was a READ. I didn't come in expecting anything, especially since OC1 just did not work for me due to the circumstances, the characters, etc. Honestly I raised my eyebrows at the highschool setting. And I was damn surprised to be really interested and engaged in the story. I'm also really, really glad I kept myself away from Reddit, Twitter, and other FGO discussions online before I finished OC2 to avoid seeing spoilers, reviews and impressions. After finishing the chapter I legit felt like my world is crumbling LOL.

Let's start from the things I liked...

• The characters are portrayed in very likeable ways. I never really cared about Jalter, Salieri, and Kagekiyo - they just didn't work for me, I guess I'm not the target audience for their characters. Buuut after Id I think they're neat characters! I highly appreciate that Jalter is mostly portrayed as a typical, strong-willed and sharp-mouthed high school friend with whom you can get along as a good friend. Also, Kagekiyo's uniform look is really, really cool. Especially the expression in which she looks upwards uncaringly. Send help.
• New Hassan is lovely. Cute. Wonderful. Praiseworthy. Remarkable. Spectacular. Award-winning. Masterful. God I love my cute tsundere, observant, and frank transfer student classmate who is actually an assassin who takes his job, both assassination and guard missions, seriously. Would even wake you up if you refuse to wake up in the morning (a bit forcefully though) even though it's not part of his contract. CV. KENN.
• Way more player choices, both ones that matter and don't. I had fun exploring the school grounds!
• I can't really put it to words but I really enjoy how... VN-like? this chapter was without it being too VN-like. Kind of reminds me of Extra in some ways. I think it was just right! The story premise, setting, the aforementioned player choices and overall format felt like they clicked well and I enjoyed going through it.
• Douman's appearances. You never fail to entertain me, funky hair man-cat. The Dioscuri's appearance got me cheering too! Yay ani-sama!
• The bittersweet feeling I got at the end of the chapter. Edmond Dantes, you... you're not my oshi but I left feeling damaged, I wonder what other Dantes stans are going through right now. The scene where Fujimaru lights up his cigarette and saying that they're there anytime Dantes needs fire lifted me up so high, and Dantes' last line "For us both... that was a long journey, collaborator." made me cry a lot. Also the cup of coffee in the end, and new Dantes' Japanese NP name/subtitle... Lord. Dantes stans if you need emotional support I'm here for you and we can mope together. I am so going to self-destruct if we ever get something like that with Merlin

Things that bummed me out:

• Some parts didn't work for me the way (I think) they were intended to make me feel, mostly because they felt too out of the blue. Ah but the first Cagliostro reveal of him being Pretender, stabbing Marie, and declaring himself to be our ally made me go huuuuuuh real quick LOL, that was pretty amusing!
• Cagliostro himself felt a bit weak to me. A lot of people online have called him Limbo-wannabe, Jalter called him "fatherly Limbo-like guy". I still think Limbo is way more fun of a character/villain.
• Action choices felt tiring after a while. And by action I mean (nods), (glares), (clenches jaw), (stares), (looks down), you name it. The dialogue choices I'm fine with! Personally I was a bit surprised at how cold/intense Fujimaru was being when they were about to face fake Nitocris Alter... but yeah, makes a lot of sense considering what they had just experienced.
• A bit sad we didn't get to say goodbye or thank you to Himeko and Ricardo. I mean, it makes sense and all, I just wish we could get along with them more.
• Speaking of screentime, I'm not happy Hassan didn't get more screentime. He shined whenever he appeared but I want more. No date scene, not enough screentime, no CG, no uniform costume? 0/10.

All in all, I really enjoyed reading Id - the writer did a good job with this story and gave me a pleasant reading/playing experience. I left feeling fulfilled... and broken inside, thanks Dantes.

Now to wait for the appendix, which apparently appears a few hours after you clear Id... (Update: appendix opens exactly 3 hours after your clear!)

That last scene with Dantes teared me up, I remember when I pulled him during his very first banner in the prison tower with a few tickets in 2016 when we were still newbies, I am not going to lie that this dude carried me a lot during the early days and I went through a lot with him at my side. I always had a lot of appreciation for his character and his following actions during the story throughout. I even grailed him at lvl 100 which is a privilege I left for my favorites and bond him to lvl 10 very quickly. It was a very long journey my Count, thank you for being our Shadow(Stealth mentor).

If I understand the seven trials correctly, and the purpose of fake Tokyo, it's supposed to be some kind of ritual Dantes made to make us understand the power of revenge, and according to him we have the potential to be the last and greatest Avenger.
Even if it's not that big I do think we missed some decent powerup there, along with mental illness and scorched earth but hey, power is nice.

I found a more detailled  summary, altougth it migth still be inacurate. Basicaly for some reason Dantes purposely sets you up to lose the ordeal, so PHH deletes all our Avengers. However, instead of fully destroying their saint graphs, we get to keep a weak (inlore) version we can use in figths. Abi replaces dantes as the protector of guda's mind, and it's hinted that the foreigner ordeal will bring back the Avengers Édit : seems like this is inacurate tooand we did suceed but all the avengers are forced to go to antartica, since their purpose is to repay injustice, and the only one left on the bleached earth is that one. Guda could join them if he accepted to become vengefuk like them, but he's more fit for salvation, so instead the Avengers part with a "good bye  and see you on the other side of the wall" vibe. The aby part is still true, but instead i think it's just hinting the foreigner OC

Noticed that after Tiamat was released and after the release of OC1 - Paper Moon, we don't have any new Alter Egos ever since.

I know Count Dante will become playable, but he feels more like a final parting gift, so it still checks.

I guess Mooncancer and Beast are basically special class made specifically for very specific servants, Foreigners are definitely allowed since we will be dealing with Alien World, and Pretenders can mask themselves, or that's how I think about it.

My headcanon is that it is because of Imaginary Scramble. Because Chaldea already went through that event, there is nothing to learn about the Foreigner Class that will increase our Human Foundation Level because we already know enough about the Class.

However, we will get a Foreigner OC anyway and I expect the lore justification being that rather than us taking the initiative to investigate it. Something from inside the Foreigner Distortion drag us inside, forcing us to deal with it whether we need to or not.

Beast is odd because it supposedly shouldn't be summonable nor have a Master , it's an Enemy that needs to be taken down.

MoonCancer is from the MoonCell , by all means , it comes from a different "boss" than Alaya.

Pretenders can mask themselves in the other classes , so it effectively "hides" on those.

And of course, Salieri. It was so great to see him in the spotlight again, and I think he finally found peace... Even if Amadeus still has regrets, even if there was never a solid "conclusion"... Just like Fujimaru, he doesn't need to avenge anymore, he doesn't need to follow that path of pain and hatred anymore.... Antonio Salieri was there, no matter how much he tried to convince himself he wasn't. No matter the regrets, no matter the unsaid words, he was loved. And perhaps that's enough. idk my brain is a little loopy but i have ffeelings about sensei

On OC3 - OC3 will be in Europe, the glowing golden light kind of makes it hard to tell, but it's in Italy or France area

As of right now I'm definitely sure Popess Johanna is going to play a major role in it. why?

1. she's a ruler, and the next chapter is ruler themed

2. the region makes sense, hell might even be in vatican city too since it's hard to tell because of the light

3. Kirei still hasn't played a big role yet, and Johanna have a voice line for him, (foreshadowing?)

4. Her bond 6 is still locked even after all this time, no really check it out.
