does the various Special Attack bonuses stack multiplicatively or additively? like say for example Lilith gets buffed by Summer Crane and uses her NP with its Special Attack Charm bonus
There are two types of Special Attack: Powermod (lasts a certain amount of turns, affects everything, additive with itself and crit/NP buffs) and Super-Effective (only affects NP, multiplicative with everything). Crane's is Powermod, while Lilith's is Super-Effective, so they stack multiplicatively.
The damage formula has 3 parts:atk buffs, card type buffs and np damage/crit damage/special attack buffs. Each buff scales additively within each part (i.e.: 10% atk and 20 % atk = 30% atk or 1.3xdamage) and multiplicatively with other parts (i.e.: 10% card type and 20% np damage = 1.1x1.2=1.32xdamage).
Now, some nps (like Lilith's) have a super effective. This is an extra multiplier outside the 3 parts I mentioned before and so it scales multiplicatively with all the other buffs.
In short, summer Crane's special attack buffs would scale additively with np/crit damage buffs but multiplicatively with Lilith's super effective on her np.
Finally, another 3 turn Arts Up AoE ramper outside of Jason and pre-buff Muramasa. I do understand why they are so stingy with this, unlike NP Strength Up and Buster Up 3 turns-pre NP which just adds up damage, Arts straights up improve the card overall, both facecards and NP as well as its NP gains and refund, therefore its the one trickiest to balance.
We had other variations like Summer Tomoe (Arts/Buster), post-buff Muramasa (All Card Types plus NP Strength Up), and Hokusai (Arts Resist Down pre-NP) but its good to see a more straightforward example this time.
Arts support, anti-[niche] damage gimmick, 50% charge for self. Pretty straightforward. The schtick being charm means she'll either be dead weight in CQs, or part of a stunlocking team, since her utility outside of that is almost entirely on her S1.
For farming itself, she'd make a decent multicore unit. Especially as an Alter Ego.
But, yeah. Debuff based kits are always a bit stage dependent for story fights, and shake in reliability for farming. Luckily she has some support to make up for that.
The extremely specific debuff on her NP is funny though. Enemies take more crit damage, but only if the enemy isn't a minor or in a swimsuit.
Huh. So she’s a mid 4* AOE Damage Dealer with the potential to be a really good multicore enabler for very specific set-ups.
Honestly, I really like this design philosophy. She does a bit of everything but nothing too incredibly well EXCEPT for weird teams that really like what she can bring.
Note that "ATK buff" is more like "offensive buff", it covers any kind of enhancement to attacks, including sure-hit, pierce invincible, ignore def, crit rate, crit damage, color, special damage, multihit, class affinity change, etc.
AOE 1 hit evade + 1 time debuff immune? Thats some crazy utility, she joining the David Sith Tristan club.
She was already my #1 priority roll bc of how much i loved the idol event but this settled it.
