American trucks are truly very big, especially considering 80-85% never do what is intended and only grab a gallon of milk from the store.

It doesn't have to haul campers. The Tundra is one of the best family vehicles out there. Seats 5 very comfortably with incredible storage capacity.

Because they have shifted the paradigm. Trucks were meant to be work vehicles, for hauling bigger stuff. Now they have commodified them into luxurious vehicles, while also unnecessarily increasing their size. If you need a family vehicle get a mini van. But don't pretend that a truck as a family car makes sense.

Europe still has wagons, but if you want the extra storage space in the US you either get a crossover or an SUV.

Who are you to tell me what is the right vehicle for my family? Do you pretend to know anything about my or my family’s needs, or why I prefer my truck over other kinds of vehicles? No, you just hate anything that you don’t understand. Racism, sexism, ageism, have this same kind of thinking at their core: if someone thinks differently than I do, than they’re wrong and must be stopped.

Why do you view an SUV differently? It’s literally just a pickup truck with a closed-in bed. It’s just your perception and attitude. I’m just glad I live in a country where people like you can’t control other people’s lives.

I somehow knew you were going to take this personally lmao.

I'm not talking about your particular case, if you use it for work purposes and family stuff, more power to you, but the argument that it's a great family vehicle is just nonsensical, when there are definitely vehicles designed with that purpose.

And no, I can't control people's lives in this country, corporations do. And that's why they have sold you the idea that a big massive truck is what you need to be a "big manly man", while simultaneously putting everyone else in danger, damaging roads more and burning more fuel than necessary. That goes for large SUVs as well.

I like the phrase, "the right to swing your fist ends where my face begins"

These knobs are out here swinging their 3 ton fists about getting pissy at us when we say, that's not necessary because, "mah freedums"

“If you need a family vehicle get a mini van. But don't pretend that a truck as a family car makes sense.”

But I’m the one who made it personal. This is getting funny.
