Wow, so the R* website says support for DLSS 3 will come as well. This is huge! I was worried FPS will drop due to RT, but I guess we’re gonna be okay.
This also paves way for 6, wherein we can safely assume whenever it comes for PC will have DLSS support.
I wonder if we will be able to use DLSS Swapper to update the dlss to DLSS 4. I've done it in other DLSS suported games, but for this, the anti cheat will problably prevent it.
The anticheat might trigger, but doesn't have to. I replaced DLSS 3 with 4 in some games with anticheat and I didn't get banned or anything. I hope it will be as easy with GTA.
I’ve been using VPN constantly, don’t think a VPN would cause a ban. Once, I switched to Poland and found out the Casino bets weren’t available. Alt f4’d and switched VPN back to my own country then the bets were available again.
The DLSS swapper in the app works on a majority of DLSS 3 games. It mostly the DLAA and ultra performance toggle that is blocked. The games just need to be whitelisted to have the option on, and Nvidia profile inspector can bypass this and toggle each of these settings on and off. No worry about anti cheat or anything as it's using the official app.
Tell you what. I’m not even gonna try it. Absolutely don’t want to get account banned/PC banned. Need to play 6 on the same PC, can’t risk it. I’m sure DLSS 3 will be sufficient.
I already have everything I want in online. And have done everything I want. If they want it they can have it. Oh no I will have to play all the great single player stories I missed while grinding gto for 699 hours over the years.
It doesnt get worse but people become more accepting to its flaws. like how theres a layer of fuzziness. id rather it looks clear like Michael bay's transformer model.
well i hope they add a psycho setting for the global illumination, so it looks good. dont want just the sun. lamps too would be nice.
the thing is if you dont use dlss for anti aliasing gta kinda shimmers or crawls on certain surfaces life fences or straight poles. so instead of breaking the bank with msaa (the only aa that doesnt blur the whole image) gives us dlss. can always use DLAA.
Thank you. I honestly don’t even know what you guys are talking about but it sounds gray so seeing your comment saying that you will choose to not CHEAT at least gives me some hope for others. Thank you.
It’s not a “cheat” per se. What we’re saying is the BattleEye might think of it as one and ban us, since it’s kernel level.
The “thing” we were talking about it is how R* say they’ll support DLSS 3, but Nvidia has rolled out DLSS 4. And there’s workaround wherein you can play with some config files and “force” any game to use DLSS 4 instead of 3, as DLSS 4 is much better. Since we need to change a game file/config file, kernel level AC might flag it. Hence, I’m not risking it. I’ll be content with DLSS 3 until R* supports DLSS 4 officially.
well it should be fine to force it in Nvidia App as it's an official tool, if Nvidia enables the feature. Using Inspector is a different story, people have gotten banned (although rarely) for using it to tweak settings outside of Nvidia control panel can do, while I've never heard about anyone getting banned over using official driver tools apart from that AMD Anti Lag story which was AMDs fault and the bans were lifted consequently...
Preset K (transformer model) only works if you also update the DLSS dll to 310 version (DLSS 4). If the game releases with version 3.8 or previous (DLSS 3), it wont work.
Not really. It could also be that the game releases with the latest dll version, while only supporting DLSS 3 features. In that case it would be possible to enable the transformer model.
If you force the override through the Nvidia app it overrides that shouldn't be needed, that's the whole point of it, that you no longer need to manually swap dll files and instead can switch to the present you want through the app.
just swap it yourself. It's as simple as downloading the .dll and replacing it in the correct NVIDIA folder in the games location. If anticheat hates this, it'll either replace it on launch itself or fail to launch until you verify files.
I don't know jack shit about how you change it, but if it's in the settings file located in > Documents >Rockstar Games, it won't trigger any ban as that's not game files
That would be spectacular. DLSS 3 sucks. I always opted never to use it because it always made everything slightly blurry no matter the sharpness. DLSS 4 is lightyears ahead of it. It still isn't the best with dark visuals, but in lit areas, I can't see a difference between off/on. I've been playing KCD2, and everything looks spectacular.
Doubtful the anticheat will catch it. Kernel-level anticheats are looking for suspicious memory activity during runtime, I would be very surprised if battleye freaks out from the directx DLL being swapped.
They made GTA5 run on a PS3, they’re good at it if they want to.
The problem is that GTA runs on an engine and code that is so old by now that its probably completely scuffed. Just look how great RDR2 looks, and that runs 2 times better than GTAO in a full lobby.
Had mine since when it first came out for EVGA, friend of mine helped me build a pc then lol, then fast forward to a few months ago
I built another PC my self and decided it's not time to seperate myself from the GPU so i just stuck it in my new build lol.
Pretty powerful card card tho, I play 1440P and still get atleast 90FPS high settings for most games
I get like 90-100FPS GTA ONLINE (high settings ish)
Haha I’m in a similar scenario! Wanna build a new pc with a new theme but was waiting for the new cards. Now I’m thinking I should wait a couple more years 😂
I’ll probably keep my card just cause it’s a EVGA one tho
2080 can do 4k on a good bunch of modern games if you utilise DLSS, And if we get DLSS overrides on GTAV then your mileage will go further due to the newer models.
yea lets dickride shitty game optimization in today's age where you pay 2k for a shitty gpu that gets fried after 1 month and needs ai to upscale the game in order for it to run above 30 fps...
Almost all graphical enhancements are implemented with ray tracing, which the 1650 is not capable of running. So you probably won't see any major differences in graphics or framerates. Performance might fluctuates more now that Online got a bunch of new stuffs though, fortunately FSR 3 is also a welcome addition.
We don't know if it's frame gen or upscaling, though. There are games that use FSR3 but not the frame generation portion of it. I'm playing through Lost Records: Bloom and Rage right now and I can't use FSR frame gen despite it being FSR3, but Nvidia frame generation is supported.
Yeah, you can. I doubt it'll be in GTA 5, but honestly I'm not a big fan of frame gen anyway. It's nice if you're already getting 60 fps, but if you try to use it to supplement a low frame rate it adds input lag.

I don't think whether or not 6 would have DLSS was ever in question considering Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on PC with DLSS. It's actually pretty rare for a PC game to not have DLSS as an option these days.
The recommend GPU (RTX 3060) is pretty cheap and good for a budget PC. I have the 12 GB VRAM version of it and so far it has played every game I threw at it, including unoptimized games like Stalker 2 and demanding games like Alan Wake 2 at 1080p.
Although if you want a cheaper upgrade, potentially anyways, then a 1660 is perfect tbh and can still run most new games today.
One thing that's interesting to think about is that they haven't been consistent with the release time for the pc version of past games. 4 came out within the same year as consoles, 5 was a year later, rdr2 took a little over a year. So who's to say with gta 6? Maybe it'll take a little longer than a year.
....Or maybe it'll come out after 6 months cause they tested out things on 5 that we're seeing now. I imagine they want the cash cow flowing as soon as possible and if the content creation platform rumours are true the best option would be pc ASAP and consoles being able to use pc approved assets to really get the community in full swing. A real 1 2 combo hit.
Well if it has dlss support, all the more reason to go for 50 series. 5070 ti is definitely better than 2060 I am running right now. But gonna need over all upgrade. Bahut kharcha hone wala hai
I don't really think so, I have an 8gb 3060ti and I get a stable 60fps with everything maxed out at 1080p everywhere except on cayo, and my game has never crashed so far.
lol yes, I have a gtx 970 with its infamous "4" GB vram, almost everything maxed out, I even have 1.5x frame scaling, and I didn't have a crash in years 🤣
No idea why you're getting downvoted. 8 GB of VRAM is pitiful in the modern era of gaming, it's why my 3060 12 GB can beat out the 4060 because I have a lot more wiggle room when it comes to features that use VRAM. 8 GB of VRAM will struggle with RT and frame generation especially at 1440p depending on graphics settings.
Although, I think you're thinking of RAM with your comment, since 16 GB VRAM shouldn't be causing you problems at all.

Recommend GPU as per R* is a 3060: 8GB VRAM.
