What exactly does it give to pc players? Can someone explain?

Improved graphics options, faster loading, dlss 3 support, HSW cars/upgrades, open world animals.

Also supports gta+ and career progress

How does career progress work with existing characters. Will it recognize progress we have already done even if it wasnt being specifically tracked?

I don't think Rockstar has said anything on that, so we don't really know (and may not until the update lands).

My guess would be that it will not, though... or that at best it might be a partial thing where it can account for certain stuff that it already tracked because it also has an achievement or clothing unlock tied to it. But I'm not holding my breath.
