Still rocking my 2080 SUPER, strong!
1 u/Snowman319 Feb 20 '25 Is it still good for 1440p? I hear it’s a 1080p card these days but maybe that was the 2070 people were talking about 4 u/LOLGotYerTags Feb 20 '25 2080 can do 4k on a good bunch of modern games if you utilise DLSS, And if we get DLSS overrides on GTAV then your mileage will go further due to the newer models. 1 u/Snowman319 Feb 20 '25 That’s definitely a great thing to hear about then! Ahh true overdrive is a neat new feature but definitely needs more support 2 u/LOLGotYerTags Feb 20 '25 You only need to look at Rockstars implementation of DLSS in RDR2 to get a good feel as to how it'll make GTAV run. Up until its swansong my 2080ti FE was running RDR2 at 4k on all altra, ok I had to set DLSS to quality but on GTAV I could do native 4k. The new RT stuff is gonna make those frames take a dive but DLSS on quality will make it almost unnoticeable. If there's DLSS overrides, Then you'll get the new models which are even closer in visual fidelity to native 4k. I can't see why there wouldn't be DLSS overrides though for this upcoming patch, given that overrides are in the nvidia app for RDR2. 2080 is still a heavy lifting gpu if you don't throw path tracing and native 4k on modern games without DLSS at it lol
