If I would like to learn at home, what would be recommended to learn in order? I don't know whether to try to learn each individual notes, the chords, how to read sheet music, I don't know where to start. Eventually, I would like to be able to play metal songs using (or even better without using) tabs, just not sure what would be the best use of my time.

There's two routes you can take:
Start learning sheet music and all the notes in the first three frets.
Start learning chords/power chords and easy solos.
I think the first route is the best but I'm heavily biased towards the study of music, whereas the second route is what most people do to varying degrees of success.
If you want an easy start to sheet music for guitar, look at Sor Op 60 and start from the first pieces. They're designed for day 1 guitarists and you'll be better than most year 3 students if you make it through the whole thing.

Get a guitar and play it. It doesn't really matter that much what you do with it, as long as you're playing it every day for at least an hour. Sooner or later you'll start to not sound awful.
Just know that 90% of people who try to learn guitar give up within one year. Make sure you have a good reason to play. Guitar takes a ton of time, so you have to be certain this is worth your dedication.

Can I fully learn from yt, and what should I learn first?

I wouldn't really recommend YouTube, since at this phase just learning how the instrument and your body works is what's important. YT lessons will never match your pace, so just play the instrument every day.
I guess if you really want a good starting point, learn the chords C and G, then work on switching between the two. That should take you a good month (if not longer) to do well. After that learn the rest of the open position chords then start looking at songs.
