NSS discovers MFA official worked for Azerbaijan
According to Factor.am sources, the NSS has identified an official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who was in contact with an Azerbaijani and passed on important information to him. Factor.am has learned some noteworthy details: in particular, the official in question is Ashkhen Aleksanyan. She was an employee of key departments, had access to important information. She was in a romantic relationship with an Azerbaijani. The NSS identified and arrested her more than a month ago. We learned that she was arrested at Zvartnots Airport during a business trip to Vienna. Factor.am has learned that Ashkhen Aleksanyan stated during interrogation that she had taken money from the Azerbaijani side and did not act alone. It is still unknown who supported her and what positions they hold in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We were informed that the NSS has seized the computers of some MFA employees. Factor.am has asked the NSS a number of questions regarding the topic, and we will publish the answer as soon as we receive it.

Removed in r/Armenia Greater Azerbaijan?
Armenia faces an anti-Armenian regime near its borders that claims it as its own for Greater Azerbajian. Considering there is currently a Genocide being funded with Western arms and allowed in Palestine, committed by the Zionist Regime. I'm worried there will be another genocide against Armenia by the Turks using the Same Western weapons. The USA may overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran, and this will isolate Armenia with no allies. What can people who live in the West do to prevent such a scenario from happening? Does the pro-Palestinian movement help with the plight of the Armenians?

West Armenia?
The Palestinian Liberation movement didn't accept two states for its just humiliation and capitulation. Ukraine is fighting right now against any agreement to secede stolen land to Russia. The Kurds are fighting like 3 or 4 nations to get their homeland for generations right now. With all respect, my Armenian Brothers, why did Armenian liberation stop with Artsakh and not include West Armenia? I'm talking about a political and theoretical question.

Turkish minister for transport posted plans about the "Zangezur corridor"
Azerbaijan has access to a shore of Sevan on this map. Armenia doesn't get a flag, unlike the other three countries. Turkey seems pretty convinced that this is a corridor, rather than whatever Pashinyan and his crew have been trying to convince everyone.
In other news, no one with half a brain is surprised at this...

When did you realize the government was infiltrated?
I am a weird case because I had an aha moment followed by a week of excruciating pain. I feel extremely bad about myself that it took me so long to come to awareness and feel like it was disrespectful to Artsakh.

Discussion Erasure of Armenian Influence in Turkish Acedemia
Deleted old post and reposting because I think not supposed to show other sub names (I promise I am not spam).
I am working on a research project, so long story, I subscribe to academic papers from Turkey.
I wasn't looking for this and I knew it was a problem but it's really upsetting to come across it in real time.
This is an example of our presence being erased in Turkey.
For reference. Armenians were well respected textile works both in production and import. You cannot talk about clothing or fabric in the Ottoman Empire and leave us out.
Likewise, you cannot talk about influence on Turkish culture and leave out one of the most prominent indigenous ethnic groups of Turkey within the heart of the Ottoman Empire.
I think it is important Armenians see this, because the impacts on cultural destruction from the genocide continue both due to exile in diaspora and deliberate ongoing erasure of our history in Turkey.

Mkhitar Hayrapetyan
In 2018, he was assigned minister of diaspora. It was odd because 1) he was young, 2) he is not a diasporan, 3) he has no experience with the diaspora or diasporan organizations. There are people with masters degrees in the Armenian diaspora in Los Angeles, who have great rapport with different orgs. So this was odd.
It turns out he had been participating in foreign “trainings” and going abroad.
At that time he had been working for Hamshen Tours, doing tours to Turkey. This program mostly attracts people from Armenian villages.
When he was questioned, he said “I have been a tour guide for years, so I know how the diaspora thinks” This was very odd to me because the diaspora has a gigantic range of experiences. It sounds narcissistic.
He came to LA and met Zareh Sinanyan as well as the western region diaspora orgs.
Now, there is a definite attack on the ARF and the diaspora (see Arsen torosyans facebook status calling them terrorists, after he participating in terrorizing the entire Armenian population for years).
It feels so clear to me that his appointment was made to spy on the diaspora, which Turkey is so paranoid about, even though the truth is the diaspora is not that active and mostly disengaged.
He moved on to become the minister of technology, which feels like data collection and is quite frankly really creepy. The engineering village sounds a lot like the smart villages being built in surrendered Artsakh, which are created for surveillance a population that wants to be farmers.
His latest post on Instagram is so sickening, vile.

Is this similar to Armenian traditional costume (Տարազ) that I wore for Paregentan (Բարեկենդան) and if not, what is it similar to?

Politics Why is the ARF prominently siding with Kocharyan?
Regardless of his record or innocence, Kocharyan appears to be extremely unpopular. Doesn’t making him the poster boy for Hayastan dashinq make it easier for Nikol & QP to stay in power?

What do you think of this Is it true?
Yunusov concluded that 127 Azerbaijanis had been murdered by Armenians in this time, generally beaten, burned, or killed. In the most horrific incident—which has still to be fully researched —twelve Azerbaijanis from the village of Vartan” I don’t really trust this that much but what do you guys think?
r/hayastan • u/1DarkStarryNight • 18d ago
The deal that wasn’t | Despite the fanfare, Armenia and Azerbaijan did not actually sign a ‘peace agreement’ at the White House. The 2026 Armenian election could decide the resolution of the conflict — and the fate of the South Caucasus

Russian weapon sales to Azerbaijan compared with Armenia
I am making this post in relation to some discussion we had on this sub where there was an idea that Russia kept it's arms sales to Armenia and Azerbaijan "balanced" to a certain degree. I feel that this is not the case, especially after looking at SIPRI arms transfers database. I know that this database is actually not complete and there are some things missing from here. There are also many weapons acquired before 1991 when USSR was still present which is not included here.
Tanks
Azerbaijan received 62 T72-M1s in 2006 then later received 100 T90 tanks in 2011. I do not want to bore you with details about differences in variants but to put it simply, the T-90 is a more modern model.
In comparison, Armenia received 82 T-72s in 1996. We actually have not received a shipment of tanks in the 21st century. So in total, Russia sent Azerbaijan 162 tanks and sent Armenia only 82 since our independence.
Infantry fighting vehicles
Russia sent Azerbaijan 70 BTR80 in 2007, 76 BTR 2013, and 118 BMP-3 in 2011. So a total of 264 IFVs
In comparison, Armenia received 50 BMP-2 in 1995. 0 since our independence.
MRLS
Russia sent Azerbaijan 36 TOS and 18 Smerch MRLS in 2011.
Armenia received 18 BM-21(Grad) launchers in 1995, and 6 smerch MRLS in 2015.
Helicopters
Russia sent Azerbaijan 24 Mi-35 helicopters in 2014. They also received 66 Mi-17 helicopters in 2015
Armenia received 4 Mi-17 helicopters in 2022 after we lost the war. It is important to emphasize, this is the only weapon shipment we received after we lost a war where much of our tanks, MRLS and artillery were destroyed.
Anti-tank missiles-this is the only thing we are somewhat balanced in
Russia sent Azerbaijan 1000 Bastion, 100 Kornet, and 800 Khrizantema anti tank missiles in 2008-2017.
Russia sent Armenia 945 Fagot and 100 Kornet anti tank missiles from 1993 to 2017.
Portable SAM
Azerbaijan received 1000 Igla-S launchers in 2011.
Armenia received 600 Igla-S launchers 1995-2015 and then received 200 Verba launchers in 2016. Remarkably this is one of the few things you can argue that we are balanced in.
This is just the main things which I have summarized. This doesn't include the howitzers, because majority of them come from the USSR, and it is the same with much of the Airforce. But I laid out the raw objective numbers here. The people reading this can make the conclusions they can make.
